I think that was common. My husband has an ancestor whose name on her children's tombstones, census records, etc., was Sarah L. or S.L. However, her name was Sarah Elizabeth and called Lizzie by those close to her. -----Original Message----- From: Jean Mayfield Cuevas <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Wednesday, June 27, 2001 6:50 AM Subject: Re: [ARSHARP] I Need Some Help From Local Ash Flat Residents, Please! >Hi! > >Going by census and marriage records, I can at least document my 2nd gr >grandmother as "Sarah L. Thanks. I know I have the right lady, because of all the census and marriage records. And, the living family members who knew her. I guess your answer is what I already knew, but it's good to get reinforcement from someone else! Jean C. At 02:21 PM 6/27/01 -0500, you wrote: >I think that was common.
