Not only did the cast of Evening Shade help out there, they also helped raise money for a new gymnasium. I don't think that Evening Shade and LaCrosse were all that close together. Evening Shade is between Ash Flat and Cave City. LaCrosse was more towards Melbourne. They just "borrowed" the name. The show was fictitious (and funny, too). According to my map there are three Evening Shades > in AR. The only one with a zip code and likely the one they named the show after is the one in Sharp Co. (My grandmother was born > there.) The others are locales in Hempstead Co. a few miles south of Hope and in Scott Co. SE of Fort Smith. > > The cast from the show helped the citizens of Evening Shade market a cookbook.
