I have info on various Duke family daughters that married into the Haley/Hailey family. For those of you that are interested check out the Duke's of Cannon and Warren County TN.That may help getting beyond AR. Jerusha Lavicia Haley (d/o Barney B. &Jane Brewer Haley) married John Duke 15 Oct. 1852, Cannon Co. TN (book A2 pg 20) John Duke bn abt 1825 in TN. They had the following Children: 1. Monroe Duke bn abt. 1854, TN 2.Almedia Arabelle Duke bn Jan 13,1856, Cannon Co. Tn, died 20 May 1953, AR, m. in AR Alexander C. Jack 3.Benjamin Duke bn abt 1860 in TN 4.Sarah Duke bn abt 1868 in IL (this comes from various census records) 5.Mary Duke bn abt 1874 in AR (probably Izard or Sharp Co.) 6.Wiley Duke, bn about 1875 in AR John and Lavicy/Vicey Duke are found in the 1860 Cannon County Census, Trusdale PO, pg 325 Dewelling #568 J.A. Duke age 39 m. carpenter b. TN Lavicy age 24 f bn TN Monroe age 6 bn TN Elmeda (sic) 4 bn TN Benj. 5/12 m bn TN (note: Barney B. and Jane were living near them in Dwelling #570) I have not been able to find them in any census for 1870, also missing are parents Barney B. and Jane Brewer Haley, which leads me to speculate that they were traveling to AR about the 1870 census was being taken. I find them in 1880 census in Izard county (but no Barney B. & Jane). However there is another daughter of Barney B. and Jane that I found in the 1880 census for Izard Co. name of Sarah bn abt 1848 who m. John Elam. They also were in IL in 1868 as their first child Alice was bn in IL, however they went back to TN, because the last three children , Emma D. Elam bn abt 1870, Luella Elam bn abt 1872 and IderT. Elam bn abt 1874 were all bn in TN. But Sarah Elam shows up in Pleasant Hill twp,Izard County AR listed as a widow with the four young children living not far from her sister Lavicy and John Duke. Two Duke sisters also married a son of Barney B. and Jane and one Haley that I have not been able to connect to my Haley line. 1. David William VanBuren Haley (aka Venturian Haley) m.NRJ Duke 24 Oct. 1860 (They apear in the 1870 census Cannon Co. Tn District 5, Woodbury PO pg154, and in the 1880 census Cannon Co. Tn district 5 , pg 522) (son of Barney B. and Jane) 2. William V Haley. (aka "Van" Haley) m Sarah C. Duke 30 May 1877 per Book C. Cannon Co.
