Hi Lanita I am Hershel Taylor. Remember Me? I know we are related thru the Arnolds, but didn't realize you were connected to the Murphy's. I am the great grandson of Hiram & Emmeline Frizzell Murphy. Martha Ann Murphy, daughter Of Hiram & Emmeline is my grandmother. Grandmother Martha Ann Murphy married my grandfather Johnathan "John" Monroe Taylor from Wirth, Ar. Sharp Co. Grandmother Martha Ann Is buried in the Baker Cemetery, Sharp, Co. Ar. You can find Hiram & Emmeline Murphy in Roane Co. Tn in 1850. & in Wright Co. MO 1860. Hiram must have died in Mo, for Emmeline is found to be head of house in sharp Co. Ar, I believe in the 1880, may be 1870. I don't have my records in front of me at the moment, you know how that goes. Hershel Taylor Lanita Sconce Smith <ozarkn@grm.net> wrote: Looking to connect with researchers of the above families. Am looking in particular for descendants of Sarah E. MURPHY ARMSTRONG, Mary M. MURPHY BYERS, Martha, Trudy and Robert [Bob] MURPHY who were all children of John W. MURPHY and Mary Jane [Janie] SCONCE [b. 1869]. I am descendant of Mary Jane [Janie] SCONCE's brother, John H. C. SCONCE [b. 1865] and have lots on the SCONCE family, but a bunch of blanks on the MURPHYS.. Janie and John H.C. SCONCE's step mother [2nd wife of Daniel W. SCONCE SR, mar. 1876], was also Sarah Catherine MURPHY. I believe that Sarah Catherine MURPHY was the dau. of Unknown MURPHY and Emmeline UNKNOWN. Her brother, John W. MURPHY, mar. Mary Jane [Janie], but this is all speculation on my part and am trying to find documentation. All of these can be found in Sharp Co. Census which I have access, but I need to make sure I've got the right family to go with the spouses. Any help is appreciated!! Lanita Sconce Smith I'm always late. Hi Hershel, Yes, of course I remember you!! Looks like we finally found the family where we are connected, by marriage anyway. I am just now researching the MURPHYs. 2 of my SCONCE members married into the MURPHYS and I am trying to cypher it all out to find out who, and where and how the two MURPHYS were connected. So where is Hiram [and I am supposing that is who the father was since the wife's name was Emmeline] and Emmeline buried. I will be happy to send you what I have, such as it is. This line is all new to me, so I don't have the names memorized yet. Lanita I'm always late. My ancestors arrived on the JUNE flower.
