Hi everybody, Got another one for you. I'm looking for MAYs and SKIDMOREs. I know I have some of these relatives in the Dolph area of Izard county. But always looking for a few more and think some may have wandered through Izard County. I know a couple generations back to my g-grandfather John Henry May who married Eliza Jane Skidmore (I think her mother was also an Eliza J. Skidmore). John Henry May's mother was possibly Amanda and the May's migrated from TN. I know they wound up in the Dolph, AR area in Izard County before some of them moved on to Wild Cherry and others to Calico Rock. That's where I hit a brick wall. If this matches up with anyone I'd sure be interested. Elden
Thanks for the info Cathy. I have a lot of relatives in southern Sharp and surrounding counties so will definitely be buying the book. Until then - I'm looking for Margaret E. Duncan who I think may be in the Mount Carmel Cemetery in the Sidney area. I have info that several others I'm looking for (ELDERs) are in the same cemetery as she's in. I don't find any of them in the on-line sources available. I find no Mollie J. Loyd in Sharp Co. Cemetery Book, Independence Co. Cemetery Book or Izard County Cemetery Book. There are Loyd's buried in the Cemetery book but not the one you are looking for. Myrvin G. (Lassiter) Harris
My understanding it covers all the cemeteries in Sharp County. Do you need a look up? Myrvin G. (Lassiter) Harris
Myrvin thank you for your time to look for Mollie Loyd. Mike Peters
I would appreciate a lookup for: My Great-Grandmother Mollie J. Loyd last research note was 1900 Federal census, Highland Township, Sharp County living alone. Thank you, Mike Peters
Hi Cathy, Does the Sharp County Cemetery Book cover all the Cemeteries in Sharp County or only Partial coverage? What is the cost of this book? Thanks Gene

Yes, there is a book on the cemeteries. A few more were published in the Batesville (AR) genealogical publication "Bits of Bark From the Family Tree." Try this email address for the book fossil@bigfoot.com if it fails please email me privately and I will give you the snail mail. I have the book but it is on loan at the moment. Betty, Have the two CD's that the Izard Historian put out and found the article. Thank you so much. I bought these CD's a couple of months ago and hadn't even opened them, but spent most of morning after your post going through the indexes of each volume, what a great resource. Thanks again for jogging my memory that I had them. Between you and others on the List I may get this Pendleton, Haley Tolleson, Williams family put together yet. This List is the greatest!!! I am searching for any information on George Washington Bland - Blann - Blan - born 1835 in Tennessee. He lived in the Sharp County area for many years. He married Sarah Amanda Ring.
Hello List, I am researching the Fernando DeCello DEWITT branch of my DEWITT lineage. According to other researchers Fernando's wife Sarah Ellen WILSON DEWITT died Dec. 25, 1898 in Hardy, Sharp County, Arkansas, but I've not found anyone who has proof. Fernando was living, by himself, in North Township, Sharp County, Arkansas in 1880 census, but supposedly died in 1922 in Savannah, Andrew County, Missouri. Can some one on this list provide proof? Sarah was believed to have been born Jan. 26, 1851, in Cooperstown, Brown County, Illinois. Unknown who her parents were. Does any one know who her parents were? Fernando & Sarah married April 26, 1868 in Mt Sterling, Brown County, Illinois. They were believed to have the following children: William Ezra DEWITT b. abt 1870 (believed never married) Ellmore Elsworths b. abt. 1878 (believed married Birdie Lena WHEELER) Mildred May b. abt. 1875 (believed married Charlie COWAN & George HAMLIN) John Jay b. abt 1879 (believed married Lana Fern HOLLINGSHEAD) Harriet Daisy b. 1881 (believed married Lewis DALGREN) Ethan Allen b. abt 1883 (believed married Louella Harriet VINCENT) James Taylor abt 1887 (believed married Mary Lou WHEELER) Thank you for your time & help, Judi from Illinois
