In The Turnbo Manuscripts, mention was made of a Mr Chandler who in 1858 invited local folks to a wolf killing on Chandler Creek, northeast of Evening Shade about 7 miles, one of the families invited were Wesley Hatfield, wife Fanny Vanwinkle Cates and children, I'm searching for any information on Fanny. Jewell was the 3rd. child of William David Paschal Spurlock and Agnes Mae Gibbins Spurlock. Children of Jewell and Jennie: J. C., Elmer Gene, Tommy Ray, Kathleen, Lee, Patricia, Imalou, Pauline Jimmy Ray, Coy Lee, born abt. 1952, Sonny, Dianna. I do not have birth dates for children. I do know that Elmer Gene Spurlock married Mildred Joanne Smith 03/28/1955 in Turlock, Stanislaus Co., CA, daughter of Al and Beulah Smith of Turlock, Stanislaus Co., California.
