    3. Hi folks! Some back I was asked for a source of records or information about Methodist clergy. At the time I replied that I was not acquainted with any. However, I just found the following message in my email archive which would seem to provide such a source. Caveat: I have not used this source and I cannot testify as to the currency of the address since the original message is several years old. Nevertheless, it might be worth a shot if you're seeking information about a Methodist clergyman. -- Robert W. King I'm an ingenieur, NOT a bloody locomotive driver! 3. Lew, Thanks, I found that one on my 1960 vintage map. I am going to try and visit some of those just to document locations and take pictures. I will post my results. Is there any way you can scan the map in, just the section around Calamine and send it by Email? I have notes on a cemetery on Campground Road but have not found it on any maps. I did find the Sullivan Cemetery where my GGrandmothers folks are buried and will try and visit it when I get time. 3. Kirk, Though my maps have legend symbols for cemeteries, they are very difficult to spot on the small and not too well printed maps. I am looking at a 1936 map, and the road going north (or northwest) out of Calamine forks about a mile out of town. On the right fork at what would be about ½ mile there appears to be a cemetery on the left side of the road. Sorry I can’t help you more. Lew

    3. Dear List Members - PLEASE DO NOT OPEN ANY ATTACHMENTS on the personal e-mail you are receiving without being 100% plus sure who it is from and that it is not a virus and the only way you can be this sure is run a Virus Scan. The new one now is "Homepage" If you open the Homepage attachment, it sends a copy of itself to everyone in your address book. Homepage then randomly chooses an adult Web page to display on the system's default Internet browser." To learn more aobut this one go to http://www.zdnet.com/zdhelp/stories/main/0,5594,2708116,00.html Homepage is just one of many. If you would like to know more about all of this you can join the Virus Discussion Mailing list by sending the word Subscribe to [email protected] We are going to be OK. These viruses cannot be sent through Rootweb so it is up to each of us to protect our fellow members. When I get a message from one of you and see that you have the virus, your e-mail address is unsubscribed from the mailing list until you get your computer system clean and then you are welcomed back with open arms. Just remember - do not open ANY attachements unless you are sure it is not a virus. If you are not sure - delete it. Those of us who are deeply nvolved in our genealogical research are so fearful that we are going to delete that one clue, which we have been waiting for, that many of us are opening these attachements - taking the chance - and because of this we are being hit hard by the virus. I appreciate your help with this. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

    3. Kirk... There are WASSONs buried in two cemeteries that I know of for sure in Sharp County...the Evening Shade Cemetery and one infant buried in the Ware Cemetery at Calamine. There might be others buried in the Ware Cemetery, but if there are, there aren't any stones for them. The cemetery is an old one, however, and graves could have been marked only with stones at the head and foot. It is now part of a cow pasture, and while some work has been done to preserve the stones that are there, cows are still allowed in and topple them over again. : ( The listing for the one in the Ware Cemetery: WASSON, infant (no dates given) daughter of W.S. and M.L. 1. [ARSHARP] Passing of Virginia Grice
    2. R. Weaver
    3. Hello Izard and Sharp County listers... I thought I'd pass this along...it was in the Batesville Guard yesterday. Virginia took my genealogy class this winter at UACCB here in Batesville, and was very interested in both genealogy and history. I know that at one time she had been on both of these lists, if not more, and always enjoyed learning more about her families. We'll miss her.... Regina [email protected] MELBOURNE — Virginia May Ford Grice, 57, of Melbourne died today, May 10, 2001, in a hospital in Batesville. Born June 25, 1943, in Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of Fonce and Nora Kesner Ford. She was a home economist for the University of Arkansas Extension Service. She was a member of Melbourne United Methodist Church, Strawberry River Daughters of the American Revolution and Extension Homemakers Club. She was a graduate of Batesville High School and of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. 3. Dear List Members: If you are unsubscribed from the list, and it is not what you wanted, just re-subscribe yourself, don't get upset. If for some reason your address bounced several times, at no fault of your own, the system removes your address from the list. So if you see it happening to you all you have to do is re-subscribe yourself or send me a message and I will take care of it for you. Please be careful and DO NOT OPEN ANY MAIL WITH AN ATTACHMENT unless you are 100% sure you know what it is and even then run a virus scan. You cannot get a virus through the Rootsweb mailing list, but you can receive it from members of the list who's computer system has a virus. As soon as I know one of our members has a virus I unsubscribe them until they can clean their system. Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns as to his list or suggestions for the benefit of all the members. Contact me personally please [email protected] For your enjoyment, this link was sent to me to share with you. It is another fun map - and shows when areas of the country were included in a US Census. http://www.segenealogy.com/sgo03.htm Thank you for your support. Kathleen Burnett List Mom
