Black Cemetery Sharp County Last week I made a Pilgrimage back to my Arkansas roots. The Black Cemetery is in Sharp County (near Martin Creek)where my great grandfather and grandmother Alexander and Harriet J. Marriott Rogers Black are buried. My 2nd cousin Jack English helped my sister Beverly and I find the old cemetery on Alexander's original homestead in the 1850s and 1860s. Alexander was born in Dublin Ireland in 1820 and came to the USA in 1840s potato famine. He settled in Columbia, MO and married Hannah La Force in 1845. They moved to Arkansas in the 1850s where Hanna died. He remarried a widow with 2 children-Harriet Marriott Rogers and settled in Ravenden Springs area where he had 4 children including my grandfather Bynum Black, a church of Christ preacher all his life. My Dad, Upton Sinclair Black (named after the writer/muckracker Upton Sinclair)was born and raised in Ravenden Springs, AK. The Black cemetery was difficult to find and was in terrible condition. The gate was open and apparently the headstones were broken by grazing cattle. There were few standing tombstones. Hello List I am going on vacation. Since I am on several very busy list, I decided that it would be best to temporarily unsubscribe while I am away. I don't want my mailbox to overflow & cause unnecessary bounces. But I will resub when I return. I really hate to do this, especially since the archive is temporarily down. Oh well.... I'll be back in a couple of weeks. Laura Howard Scottsburg, IN

Hello, I managed to get a virus yesterday. It was the w32.sircam.worm A very tricky deal. What happened was... I received a email with Deb as the sender. I have a wonderful friend Debbie. The subject was, I need advice. So, I went to it. It then went to my address book and started sending similar messages to folks. If you had a virus detector, it sent the message back automatically. If you scanned it you found it. I hope these things happened to each of you. I hope you didn't get the virus from me. I now have McAfee virus protector on mine. You can go to McAfee.com and download whatever you need and they have some things to help clean up and repair. They charge a yearly fee of about $35.00. But, you can get 3 months free. Their system found the virus and walked me through the clean up. Forgive me for my stupidity and negligence. I hope I didn't cause to much damage. Lisa Carpenter-Clements
