This was the older brother of my grandmother, Sue Carolyn Lasiter Godwin Smith (1936-2003). The Lasiter family lived on Park Ave. James P. Lasiter Jr. James P. Lasiter Jr., 74, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in Fort Smith. He was a retired accountant for the Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 31 and he was of the Methodist faith. He is survived by one daughter, Gena Kay Kimes of Fort Smith; one son, James David Lasiter and his wife, Ellen of Fort Smith; one sister, Barbara Frazier of Detroit; and three grandchildren, Larry and Nathan Kimes and April Lasiter. Memorial service will be Friday, March 28, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel and burial will at U.S. National Cemetery.
