That's one of my cousins!) My cousin, Helen, had written a song called, "Hang On Little Jessie," for and about Jessica McCLUTE, the little child that fell in a well in Midland, Tx, about October 16, 1987, and she, friends, and other members of our family went there to see how she was. Fast forward to the hospital, "A short time later out of the room comes Jessica and her lovely grandmother, Reba WILBURN. My heart leapt with joy when I saw that precious little girl. She smiled at me. She was clinging to her grandmother and seemed to be pleased to see us....Mrs. WILBURN was very gracious...(she) told us that she lives in Greenwood, Texas. Her Greenwood (my family lives in Greenwood, AR) is just a few miles from Midland, just as our Midland is just a few miles from Greenwood. I thought that to be quite ironic. She is a school teacher and a very good one, I bet. She seemed to have such a way with Jessica, and I'm sure that it carries over into her profession. My grandson's class wrote letters to Jessica, and I took them to her. I told Mrs. WILBURN about the ltters and she said I will personally write a thank-you letter to T.C.'s class. She did. I believe that Mrs.WILBURN is a teacher of a high caliber." 91/93-7,45,66 - Marriage data - Francis D. WILBURN to Sarah Jane GANN, daughter of Adam and Susan GANN, February 20, 1859, Bates Township.
