Charles J. "Chuck" KING, 70, of Ratliff City, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001. He was born June 12, 1931 in Calumet to Dallas and Vera King. He was a certified driver. He retired from Werner Trucking in 1997. He trained 96 new drivers; one of whom has continued to be a close and dear friend, Barry Lee of Texas. Chuck received numerous safety awards from Werner and he also received a watch for one million miles. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Patty Wall; five grandchildren, Erica and Jessie Wall, Shannon LittleBird, Brenth Stanley and Jason Davidson. Survivors include his wife Dortha "Nan" of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Lori King of Lindsay, Gary and Vicki King of Greenwood, and Rick and Carrie Nelson of El Reno; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Toni and Donnie Damrill of Lindsay, Vicki and Dick Garoutte of Poteau, Sandra and Dutch LittleBird of Weatherford, Debi and Chris Edwards of Healdton and Cathy King of Cheyenne; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Jean Winterheaven of Florida; one sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Dewey Tappen of Enid; one sister-in-law, Dorothy King of Enid; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous other special family members. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6 at Spivey’s Reser Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jimmy May officiating. Burial followed at Mount Olive Cemetery in Healdton under the direction of Spivey’s Reser Funeral Home of Healdton. Pallbearers were Myron King, Monty King, Randy King, Curtis Tappen, Cliff King, and Terry Fuqua. Stella Arlene BAKER, 58, of Heavener, died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001. She was a lifelong resident of Heavener and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Heavener. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Baker. Survivors include two daughters, Kay Killion and Sherri Janway, both of Heavener; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6 at Heavener Memorial Park under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener. Josephine Anginet ELLIS, 74, of Talhina, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2001. She was born March 2, 1927 in Norton, Va. to Lee and Liza Marcum. She has been a resident of Talihina for the past two years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett Ellis Jr.; and a son, Everett Ellis III. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Homer and Cathline Ellis; two granddaughters, Mary Iris Green and Josephine Ellis; a grandson, Andrew Young and a great-grandson, George-Johnathon Green, all of Talihina. Brett "Possum" Bowles, 30, of Heavener, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2001, in Poteau. He was a lifelong resident of Heavener, a member of the First Baptist Church of Hodgen and a member of the Route 59 Cruzers Car Club and manager for O’Reilly Auto Parts. He graduated from Heavener High School in 1989. Survivors include his wife Donna; one son, Theron of the home; his mother, Charlotte Steelman of Dallas; his father, Tommy Bowles of Hodgen; maternal grandmother, Ruby Steelman of Heavener; paternal grandfather, R.K. Bowles of Hodgen; one sister, Lisa Long of Dallas; one brother, Robert Bowles of Amarillo; his father and mother-in-law, Frank and Mary Bandy of Heavener; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of friends. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8 at First Baptist Church of Hodgen. Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener. Ada Bell COX, 87, of Howe, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2001, in Poteau. Mrs. Cox was a member of the Sugarloaf Christian Fellowship in Monroe and a retired veterinarian’s assistant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Cox. Survivors include her half brother, Odis Pickerill; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ules and Betty Cox of Indio, Calif. and Emmett and Ruth Parker of Artesia, N.M. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Rev. Les Scroggins officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery in Monroe
