She was a retired employee of Okla Homer Smith Furniture Co. She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Collier, and two brothers, Sam and Clyde King. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Salem Cemetery near Cedarville. She is survived by two daughters, Billie Sue Morgan of Little Rock and Rhonda Jane Hamm of Fort Smith; a son, Sammye K. Collier of Van Buren; a sister, Thelma Pedersen of Belleview, Mich.; a brother, C.J. Scott of Houston; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Wayne Voss, John Lamar Foster, Frank Neal, Gary Hamm, Larry Morgan and Eric Anderson. Cecil Randolph Warner Jr. died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001. He was born in Fort Smith on Jan. 13, 1929, the son of the late Reba Cheeves and Cecil R. Warner. He was a 1950 magna cum laude graduated of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a bachelor of arts degree. He was a member of the Razorback Golf Team, Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Eta Sigma and Omicron Delta Kappa honorary societies. He received his doctorate degree magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1953. He was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. Harvard awarded him a Sheldon Traveling Fellowship in 1953 and 1954. In 1954, he joined his father and uncle as a partner in the Warner and Warner Law Firm (now Warner, Smith & Harris) founded by his grandfather in Fort Smith in 1887. He remained with the firm until 1971. He co-founded Fairfield Communities Inc. in 1996 and was president and chief executive officer of Fairfield from 1976 unto 1991. He was chief executive officer of Ensco from 1991 to 1993. He was a director and chief executive officer of the Wortz Co. in Poteau from 1993 unto 1997. In Fort Smith, Warner was a scout master for Troop 23, Boy Scouts of America. He was elder and trustee of First Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith and a member of the board of trustees of Sparks Regional Medical Center. He was an instructor at the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1954 and again in 1956. He was the vice chairman of the Arkansas Constitutional Review Study Commission in 1967 and vice president of the Seventh Arkansas Constitutional Convention, 1969-70. He was a member of the board of directors of First Commercial Bank, St. Vincent Infirmary Foundation and Centers for Youth and Families. He was a member of the Board of Visitors of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He was a member of Fifty for the Future and was a member of the board of the United Way of Palm City, Fla. Warner was a member of the Pulaski County and American Bar Association. He was past chairman of the executive committee and past chairman of the young lawyers section of the Arkansas Bar Association. He was a member of the American Law Institute. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and associate member of the Palm City, Fla., Presbyterian Church. "Randy was born during the Depression years. He was an inspiration to many, a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was a real estate and trial lawyer, an avid quail hunter, scratch golfer, tennis buff, and he loved sailing the open seas. He loved his native state and followed the Hogs with a passion. He was a friend to the needy and a man of few words. He was a brilliant scholar and strong supporter of education. A real estate and corporate visionary, he touched many lives. His legacy will be timeless. He gave so much to his family, his work, his community and his church," a family member said. Survivors include his beloved wife of 18 years, Barbara; his sister, Jane Warner Williams of Fort Smith; five children, Susan Skelsey and her husband, Henry of Rye, N.Y., Jane Moore and her husband, Franklin of Chicago, Randy Warner III and his wife, Debbie of Dallas, Matt Warner and his wife, Allison of Little Rock, Kate Ross and her husband, Steve of Dallas; three stepchildren, Coty and Holly Haynes, both of Little Rock, and Larson Haynes of Minneapolis, also survive him. His eight grandchildren, Henry, Charles, Nicholas and Anna Skelsey, all of Rye, N.Y., Randy IV and Mary Warner, both of Dallas, Jake and Alice Warner, both of Little Rock. Four stepgrandchildren, Chase Haynes of Little Rock, Dillon Haynes of Minneapolis, Nathaniel Moore of Chicago and Katlin Ross of Dallas and a special family friend, Beth Haynes of Little Rock, also survive him. The funeral service will be 3 p.m. today in St. James United Methodist Church with Dr. Guy Whitney and Dr. Jack Wilson officiating. A family interment will be Saturday in Fort Smith at Forest Park Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Ray Gamble of Palm City, Fla. officiating.
