She was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Lone, to the late J.F. McCutchen and Cora Slaughter McCutchen. She was a member of the Arvin First Baptist Church, the Arvin Women's Club and worked 15 years as the county librarian in Arvin. She was the widow of Emmett Uliss Garner. Funeral services will be later this week in Arvin under the direction of Arvin Funeral Home of Arvin, Calif. Local arrangements under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Townsend of Lavaca and Kathy Culps of Bakersfield, Calif.; two sisters, Norma Patterson of Lavaca and Juana Corinne Couch of Saginaw, Texas; three grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Margaret Katherine Fritsche, 67, of Booneville died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, in Little Rock. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Booneville, the Catholic Women's organization and a community volunteer. Preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Koch, and a brother, Gene Koch. Rosary will be 6 p.m. today in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Booneville, followed by visitation at 6:30 p.m. in the church hall. Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Benedict Catholic Church in Subiaco with burial at St. Scholastica Catholic Cemetery in New Blaine under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Booneville. She was manager of Sheridan Lanes and Crystal Bowling Center in Tulsa; a charter member of the Tulsa Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame, inducted on Feb. 28, 1982; a past president of TWBA; a past director of the Oklahoma Women's Bowling Association; a past delegate to the WIBC and OWBA; and a Protestant. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Ninde Woodland Chapel in Tulsa with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. Memorial contributions may be made to Arkansas Childrens Hospital, P.O. Box Drawer 2222, Little Rock, AR 72203. Charles R. "Fred" Ferguson passed away Aug. 17, 2001, at Brownwood Manor in Van Buren. He was born June 29, 1919, in Kearny, N.J. He served in the Army from 1941 to 1945, with the Fourth General Hospital in Melbourne, Australia; New Guinea; and the Philippines. After honorable discharge he worked for 30 years as the Chief of Laboratory Services at the VA Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio, before retiring. He was a longtime resident of Berea, Ohio, before joining his family in Fort Smith in 1990, where he was a member of the Christ the King Catholic Church. Mr. Ferguson was an avid stamp collector and fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Northside Lady Bears basketball team. In his later years, he enjoyed following the academic and athletic pursuits of his grandchildren at Trinity Junior High School, Northside High School and Stanford University. He is survived by his wife, Audrey, of Fort Smith; sons, Charles III of Perris, Calif., John of Georgetown, Grand Cayman, and daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Bob Kale of Fort Smith. He also leaves two grandchildren, David and Megan Kale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Trinity Junior High School, 1205 S. Albert Pike Ave., Fort Smith, AR 72903. Memorial mass will be 11 a.m. today at Christ the King Catholic Church in Fort Smith.
