Bessie Marle (PARHAM) RUTLEDGE, 99, of Fort Smith, formerly of Spiro, died Tuesday, July 31, 2001. She was born March 18, 1902 at Yell County, Ark. to George and Ollie Chambler Parham. Mrs. Parham was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; two brothers, Roy and Ray Parham. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Young and husband James of Fort Smith and Georgia Vines and husband Charles of Harrison, Ark.; five grandchildren, Charlotte Best, Bill, Kenneth and Jim Young and Marie Holder; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 at the Spiro Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Vowell officiating. Service is under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
