Hello you searchers: The following are the obituaries for today: Gracie Womack JASPER, Ala. - Gracie Gertrude Womack, 91, of Jasper, Ala., formerly of Mena, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, in Alabama. She was born March 12, 1910, in Millerton, Okla. She was a homemaker, a house mother for the Tulsa Boy's Home and at Monticello and a member of First Baptist Church in Mena. She was the widow of John Thomas Womack. Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena. She is survived by three sons, John and Harold Womack, both of Nauvoo, Ala., and James M. Womack of Friendship; 16 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Mattie Williams Mattie Maxine Williams, 90, of Van Buren died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and was formerly of Gober, Texas, and a member of Gober Baptist Church. She was the widow of John Elmer Williams. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Gober Baptist Church with burial at Gober Cemetery under the direction of Wise Funeral Home of Bonham, Texas. She is survived by a son, John Talmadge Williams of Van Buren; a sister, Mildred Louise Moore of Gober, Texas; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. Jerry Ross SALLISAW - Jerry Ross, 63, of Sallisaw died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, in Sallisaw. He was a 1955 graduate of Sallisaw High School, a retired maintenance worker for Coltec Industries and attended Eastside Baptist Church. He was the widower of Margaret Ellen Ross. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Eastside Baptist Church in Sallisaw with burial at Fleetwood Cemetery east of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He is survived by a companion, Esther Paulk; a daughter, Laura Kuykendall of Sallisaw; two sons, James Frank Ross of Cedarville and Jerry Robert Ross of Spiro; two sisters, Mary Farmer and Shirley Ellis, both of Sallisaw; and four grandchildren. Keith Dunn Keith Dunn, 41, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, in Cameron. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Poteau. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday in McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith. He is survived by a sister, Carolyn Green of Broken Arrow, Okla.; three brothers, Ron Dunn of Cameron, Kenneth Dunn of Van Buren and Randy Dunn of Rye Hill, and a halfbrother, Henson Dunn of Subiaco. Austin Walker CLARKSVILLE - Austin T. Walker, 88, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, in a local nursing home. He was born June 25, 1913, in Franklin. He was a retired machinist and carpenter, and a fiddle player. He was the widower of Beatrice Walker. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville. He is survived by a daughter, Iris McAnally of Conway; a son, James Walker of Clarksville; a sister, Ena Clark of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Laura Duke of Fayetteville and Terri Rhoades of Conway; three stepgrandchildren, Gary Eckert of Minneapolis, Paul Eckert of Florida and Nancy Kern of Clarksville; three great-grandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Luther Perdue KEOTA - Luther "Jack" Perdue, 76, of Keota died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday in Spiro First Baptist Church with burial at Short Mountain Cemetery in Cowlington under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro. He is survived by a daughter, Jo Ann Pittman of Sallisaw; a son, Charles Perdue of Spiro; two brothers, Walter Perdue of Talihina, and Roland Perdue of Kingman Ariz.; six grandchildren, Lance, Gregg and Brent Perdue, all of Spiro, Ryne Perdue of Tulsa, Amanda and Pennie Pittman, both of Sallisaw; and four great-grandchildren. Alvin Thomas HUNTINGTON - Alvin Ward "Smokey" Thomas, of Huntington died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, in a Fort Smith nursing home. He was a veteran of World War II and was retired from Fiberboard Manufacturing Co. and a member of Redlands Lodge, and a Presbyterian. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Martin Funeral Home of Mansfield with burial at Coop Prairie Cemetery in Mansfield. He is survived by his wife, Edith; two daughters, Edith James and Rose Ann Metcalf, both of Huntington; a sister, Ruby Vasquez of Paxton, Neb.; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. The body may be viewed 3 to 8:30 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home. Paul Phillips SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Paul Phillips, 78, Scottsdale, Ariz., died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, in Seneca, Md. He served as an Air Force pilot in the Pacific during World War II, after the war he attended and graduated from Oklahoma State University at Stillwater and worked for Standard Oil of Ohio; he retired at age 58 as senior vice president. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday in Rocky River Christian Church with burial at Lakewood Cemetery in Rocky River, Ariz. He is survived by his wife, Louise; a daughter, Paula Hoch of Clarksville, Md.; a son, William D. Phillips of Seneca, Md.; a sister, Vida Herrington of Fort Smith; three brothers, James Phillips of Sallisaw, Ralph and Bill Phillips, both of Muldrow; and four grandchildren. Pearl M. Orr, 98, of Poteau died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, in Poteau. She was born May 21, 1903, in Kully Cha Ha, Indian Territory. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Poteau. She graduated from Cameron High School in 1924. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jimmie" Orr; her parents, T.P. Miller and Luween Shumpert Miller; two brothers, Floy A. Miller and C.C. Miller; three sisters, Roscie M. Saviers, Otis M. Hill and Edith M. Horton; and an infant brother and an infant sister. Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church in Poteau with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, with the Revs. Marcus K. Barnett, Charles Saviers and Larry Gaston officiating. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Wayne and Judy Moore of Poteau; two grandchildren, Grace Ford of Littleton, Colo., and James Ford of Greenwood; a great-grandson, James Patrick Ford of Greenwood; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends. . Quin W. Bugh Sr., 82, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, in a local hospital. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War, having completed more than 30 years of active military service. He served eight years as Air Force adviser to the Fort Smith Air National Guard Unit. He was a former vice president of the Fort Smith Bowling Association, a member of the Fort Smith Bowling Hall of Fame and a member of Oak Cliff Baptist Church of Fort Smith. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday in Oak Cliff Baptist Church with burial at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith. He is survived by his wife, Rachel of the home; a daughter, Rebecca Bugh Allen of Fort Smith; three sons, Quin Bugh Jr. of Fort Smith, David G. Bugh of Batesville and Robert A. Bugh of Austin, Texas; a sister, Dollie Mae Picot of Little Rock; and six grandchildren, Casey and Monica Bugh, Clayton Allen, Kenny, Scott and Matthew Pitcher. William F. "Bill" Baker, 78, went to his eternal rest Sunday at home. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corps in the 31st Bombardment Squadron in the Pacific, managed a Safeway for 18 years and went on to own Baker's Quik Pick. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the Kiwanis Club. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Katie Ruth Baker. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Goddard United Methodist Church with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen M. Baker of the home; two daughters, Connie Moore and Maurine Baker, both of Fort Smith; two sons, Bill Baker of Denver and Rick Baker of Fort Smith; a brother, A.L. Baker of Memphis, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Heidi Jones of England, U.K., Jason Moore of Fort Hood, Texas, Terry and Nathan Baker of Dallas, Matthew, David and Andrew Baker, both of Denver, and Maxwell Baker of Fort Smith; and three great-grandchildren. . Wallace Michael Casanova, 68, of Fort Smith died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, in Iron Mountain, Mich. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mass will be 1 p.m. today in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith. He is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Collins of Decatur, Ala.; two sons, Ronnie Casanova of Fort Smith and Arthur Casanova of Cedarville; two brothers, Donald and Roger Casanova, both of Norway, Mich.
