    3. Bill Breese HUTTO, Texas - Bill Breese, 54, of Hutto, Texas, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, in his home. He was born May 1, 1947, in Marble City. He was an Army veteran, currently employed by Texas Department of Agriculture in Austin, Texas. He was previously employed by U.S. Department of Agriculture from 1970 and 1980, and with Oklahoma State Department of Agriculture in 1969. He was a member of American Quarter Horse Association for more than 30 years. He served as assistant general manager at Blue Ribbon Downs in Sallisaw, was associated with Gillespie County Fair Association in Fredericksburg, Texas as general manager and consultant, and as racing steward for several other racing facilities throughout the United States. A celebration of Bill's life will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Pflugerville, Texas. He is survived by a daughter, Lara Breese of Santa Clara, Calif.; a son, Max Breese of Valley Mills, Texas; a sister, Patricia Hart of Virginia; a brother, Harry Breese of Oklahoma; and a special friend, Julia Jensen. Frances Rogers Frances M. Rogers, 82, of Van Buren died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, in a local nursing home. She was a saleslady for Avo, and a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Lewis Funeral Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren. She is survived by three daughters, Frances K. Martin of Lawton, Okla., Delores Blankenship of Milltown, and Pat Dinsmore of Fort Smith; two sons, Dennis Joe Wear of Bells, Tenn., and James Henry Rogers of Van Buren; a sister, Louise Amerise of Fort Smith; and five grandchildren, Roy Wear, Debbie Dunivan, Brian and Phillip Blankenship and Charlie Martin Jr., eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Roy Dinsmore, Roy Wear, Charlie Martin, Casey and Heath Lunsford and Chuck Nix. Jacob Emard POTEAU - Jacob Vern Emard, 28, of Poteau died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, in Poteau. He was born Sept. 8, 1973, in Downey, Calif. He worked in construction. The body was cremated under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau. No services are planned. He is survived by his father, Steven Vern Emard of Poteau; a sister, Julie Emard Starkey of Kingman, Ariz.; his grandmother, Vivian Ribera of Poteau; several aunts and uncles and cousins. Nona White PARIS - Nona Helen White, 93, of Paris died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, in Paris. She was a homemaker and the widow of John W. White. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Oakwood Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris. She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Floyd of Paris, and Ethel Christman of Ephrata, Pa.; a son, Lon White of Mountain Home; 20 grandchildren, and 41 great-grandchildren. James Mooney CLARKSVILLE - James H. Mooney, 80, of Clarksville died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, in Clarksville. He was a veteran of World War II and a farmer. He was a Baptist. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville. He is survived by his wife, Minerva; a son, Lawrence Mooney of Knoxville; a sister, Edith Carpenter of Ozark; three grandchildren, Annetta Mooney of Mayflower, Jamey Mooney of Knoxville, and Ladonna Wheeler of Fayetteville. George Fryday SALLISAW - George Gerald Fryday, 49, of Sallisaw died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, in Sallisaw. He was a racehorse jockey and a Protestant. The body was cremated under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He is survived by two sons, Cade Shalla of Kingsville, Texas, and Luke Shalla of Weatherford, Okla.; his mother, Marriett Fryday of Tahuya, Wash.; a sister, Lucy Fryday of Tahuya, Wash. S.J. Orr POTEAU - S.J. "Jay" Orr, 78, of Poteau died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, in Poteau. He was born Oct. 9, 1922, in Maysville, Okla. He served in the Marine Corps in World War II, and saw action on Guadalcanal, Marinas Islands, Guam, Volcano Islands, and was wounded on Iwo Jima in February 1945. He received the Purple Heart and was honorably discharged in December 1945. He was a retired production supervisor for Gulf Oil Corporation after 30 years. He was the widower of Opal V. Orr. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. He is survived by a daughter, Amie Stalkup of Casper, Wyo.; three sons, Sam Orr of Edmond, Okla., Charlie Orr of Sandy, Utah, and Jay Orr of Vernal, Utah; three sisters, Georgia and Dorothy Brown, and Sue Ramsey; two brothers, Orlis and Paul Ray Orr; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Orr's memory to Disabled American Veterans or the Salvation Army. Walter Gillson POTEAU - Walter Gillson, 79, of Poteau died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, in Poteau. He was born Sept. 27, 1921, in St. Johns, Mich. He served in World War II in Africa and the Pacific in the medical corps for both the Marines and the Navy. He attended dental school at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., prior to his military service. He was in retail management with J.C. Penney for 33 years, where he managed stores in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. He joined Goodwill Industries in Fort Worth, Texas, where he was responsible for nine retail and training locations in Texas. From 1982 until his retirement in 2001, he was manager for Holton's Department Store in Poteau. He was a member of Rotary, serving as president, and was Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary International, past member of Lions Club International and P.B.O. Elks Club, a member of First United Methodist Church in Poteau. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church in Poteau with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; a daughter, Sheri Gillson Dougherty of Brookfield, Conn.; three sons, Craig Gillson of Elwood, Ind., Jim Snow of Plano, Texas, and Bill Snow Jr. of Fort Smith; a sister, Evelyn Parr of Traverse City, Mich.; a brother, Richard Gillson of Georgetown, Texas; and seven grandchildren. Robert Clevenger NORTH LITTLE ROCK - Robert F. Clevenger, 74, of North Little Rock died Monday, Sept. 23, 2001, in a local hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a retired roofer, and attended the United Pentecostal Church, and a member of Disabled Veterans. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. He is survived by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Laura Easley of Roland; three sons, John Wagley of Kenard, Texas, Clifton Wagley of Kosse, Texas, and Billy Wagley of Houston; a sister, Mary Copeland of Tonto Basin, Ariz.; a brother, Bunk Clevenger of Lima, Ohio; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Wayne Holiman BLUE MOUNTAIN - Wayen Holiman, 54, of Blue Mountain died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, in his home. Jack Ratliff SUMTER, S.C. - Jack Thurston Ratliff, 78, of Sumter, S.C., formerly of Mena, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, in South Carolina. He was born Nov. 29, 1922, in Mena. He was a retired lieutenant colonel in the Air Force having served as an instructor pilot and squadron commander. He served in World War II and the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of Retired Officers Association and the First Christian Church. He was the widower of Dorothy Eddleman Ratliff. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Pinecrest Memorial Park with military honors under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena. He is survived by a daughter, Phyliss L. Ratliff of Santa Fe, N.M.; a son, Mark E. Ratliff of Bluffton, S.C.; three sisters, Pat Bredinback of Hot Springs, Peggy Hale of Little Rock, and Kathy Ratliff of Norman, Okla.; two granddaughters, Dorothy Ratliff and Angela Lorrain. Emaline Jordan LEQUIRE - Emaline Jordan, 76, of Lequire died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was educated in Lequire and Kinta and graduated with the class of 1943. She owned and operated Lequire Store for 10 years. She was a member of Lequire Baptist Church, the Lequire Historical Society, and co-founded the Reunion Days of Lequire. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Martin Family Cemetery in Lequire under the direction of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler. She is survived by three sons, Martin Jordan of Fayetteville, Joseph Jordan of Lona Valley, Okla., and Michael Jordan of Lequire; a sister, Vivian Jordan of Denver; a brother, William C. Martin of Lequire; eight grandchildren, Dana, Cari, Michael, Shakia, Yaminta, Ashua and Travis Jordan and Sherry McGlone, and eight great-grandchildren. "Randy" Malone Jr., 22, of Russellville died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, in Russellville. He was a member of the Dean's List for Arkansas Tech University, a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, were he served as Rush Chairman and I.F.C. representative, and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
