    3. It probably is connected to my lineage (actually husband's)... but I have not pursued it yet. Here is all I have on it. It appeared in the histories of residents of Sebastian County and was archived at Spark's Memorial Hospital: a.. SMEDLEY, W. L. was born October 26, 1875. He is a son of B. B. Smedley, whose biography appears elsewhere. He attended school at Smedley School House. He married Miss Belle Claborn, a daughter of W. C. Claborn. She was born January 1876. b.. They had born three children: c.. Everett, born November 30, 1897, d.. Marvin, October 14, 1898, died December 1898 e.. Vera born June 25, 1901. Mr. Smedley is comfortably located on a tract of 208 acres. It is supposed to be underlaid with coal. He is an available hand for contracting. He is the mail contractor carrying from Peoria to Guyann and from Guyann to Hartford. a.. SMEDLEY, Benjamin Bucknell was born in Mancheter, England, October 4, 1825. His father was born in Derbershir, England, 1792. He was a Baptist minister and poet. He was well educated and came to America in 1828, located at Philadelphia where he remained seven years, when he came by water and land to Skulleville, I.T., where he remained five years as a teacher, and he was a missionary. Then came to Arkansas, Sebastian County, and lived to be 85 years of age. His name was Rev. Joseph Smedley, the youngest of seven brothers. After B. B. Smedley married Miss Mary A. Huckaby. Her father was born in Kentucky. They had eleven children; 9 boys and 2 girls; 9 are now living; b.. John Henry born October 20, 1863; c.. Leail born March 29, 1870; d.. Frederick Edwin. born April 18, 1872; e.. Walter Lee . born October 2, 1875; f.. Volero Bucknell. born November 30, 1877; g.. Benjamin Sugg . born May 24, 1880; Samuel R. born May 28, 1882, h.. Joseph Wm. born July 6, 1884, i.. Charles Geo. born October 8, 1886 j.. Ralston k.. Tessie (died in infancy) l.. Leni Leota m. a Kilgo SMEDLEY, REV. JOSEPH, married Mary Ann Ratliff. Children were: a.. Charlie Byron b.. Manuel Eugene c.. Macdoo Lavero d.. Artie T. e.. Edna W. f.. B. B. Smedley has 600 acres of good average land, supposed to be underlaid with coal.
