    2. Alvin Leo Latimer, Jr., 74, of Talihina died Tuesday, July 11, 2000. He was born May 22, 1926, at McAlester. He was the son of Alvin Leo Latimer, Sr. and Mae Lackey Latimer. He was a resident of Talihina since 1985. He was of the Protestant faith and had served in the US Navy during W.W.II. He was honorably discharged and served in the US Army during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the service in 1966 after having served for 21 years. He is survived by his son, James Latimer of Reno, Nev.; two daughters, Kristi Holt and Patricia Latimer of Lompoe, Calif.; his sister, Doris Jurgensen of Gulfport, Miss.; and a niece, Cindy Boatner of Antlers. Janice Ann Hatton, 66, of Buffalo Valley, died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at the Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. She was born Sept. 6, 1933, at Lima, Ohio. She was the daughter of John Homer Koons and Mary Ada Menefee Koons. She had been a resident of the Buffalo Valley area for the past 28 years. Before this she lived in Mesa, Ariz. She was a member of the Protestant faith and was married to George Hatton on Aug. 3, 1950 in Mesa. They had been married for 49 years. She had worked for the Southeastern Oklahoma Public Library systems at Talihina until she retired. She was preceded in death by her mother. She is survived by her husband of the home; one daughter, Leslie Jo Stepp of Buffalo Valley; two sons, John Hiriam Hatton of Talihina and Lynn Evans Hatton of Holbrook, Ariz.; his father, John Homer Koons, Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
