I have just finished talking to ANCESTRY.COM. I am so finished talking with the billing department of Ancestry.com. They put a charge of $39.95 on my credit card WITHOUT MY PERMISSION...and then told me I couldn't get a refund. I COULD CANCEL, but NO refund. I asked five times to talk to the lady's supervisor, and only after I became irate, she handed me over to her supervisor. She told me she would cancel the subscription and give me a refund also. I will wait and see. I had on one of the lines this had happened to them also...I couldn't believe Ancestry.com would do this. But they did and tried not to credit me back on the credit card. This genealogy site had a good reputation, now it's not so hot with me. I hope everyone else that is a subscriber never has this problem, but I am afraid that's how they do. Since this is a PAID Genealogy site, it really upsetting to think they were so arrogant with me. Hope no one resents me posting this, but Rootsweb, as a free site, has my vote and my money of support.
