    2. Robert Lee Sears, 68, of Poteau, died Monday, July 24, 2000 in Fort Smith. He was born June 14, 1932, in Poteau. He was a retired Poteau Police officer. Mr. Sears was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by his wife Joyce of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Annetta Ron DeMoss of Wister; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Kim Sears of Bentonville, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Lindsey, Taylor and Molly DeMoss, Cody, Scott, Shelby, and Bradley Sears; three step-children, Glenn Tucker of Fort Smith, Vicki and Gary Chapman of Fort Smith, and Becky Gore of Van Buren; nine step-grandchildren; and one sister, Grace Daniel of Poteau. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 25 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion, Poteau, with burial following at Oakland Cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy D. Cook will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau. Presley Junior Isaac, 73, of Sallisaw, died Saturday, July 22, 2000. He was born Feb. 9, 1927, in Talihina. He was a carpenter. Mr. Isaac was a veteran of WWII serving in the 11th Airborn Division, 187th reg. of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his father, Boe Isaac; his mother, Lillie Bell Alexander; his daughter, Donna Jo Isaac; his great-granddaughter, Kristy Lynn Thompson; and his sister, Lora Mae Evans. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Isaac of the home; three sons, Robert Charles Isaac Sr. of Bokoshe, Justin Eugene Isaac Sr. of Sallisaw, and Stephen Presley Isaac Sr. of Panama; two daughters, Brenda Gray Wolf of Sallisaw and Ramona Sue Hedges of Poteau; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Lorane Gray of McAlester, Helen Jean Prescott of Jacksonville, Fla., and Evelyn Louise Boyd of Corydon, Ind.; and one brother, Joe Charles Isaac of Alderson. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro. The Rev. Lynn Bullard will officiate. Pallbearers will be Robert C. Isaac Sr., Justin E. Isaac Sr., Stephen P. Isaac Sr., Robert C. Isaac Jr., Justin E. Isaac Jr., Stephen P. Isaac Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Brown, Wayne Corley, Tom Sweeny and Nelson Hedges. Arrangements are under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau. Oscar Otis McCurtain, 90, of Talihina, died Saturday, July 22, 2000 at McAlester. He was born Oct. 30, 1909, at Stigler, to Mack and Harriet Christy McCurtain. Oscar was a graduate of Chilocco Indian School. He then attended Okmulgee Technical School at Okmulgee, where he was a graduate. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was an honorably discharged veteran. While in the U.S. Army he received the Purple Heart, the European Theater Ribbons, and the Silver Star and POW medal. He was a POW in Germany in 1944 for seven months. He had been employed at the Talihina Indian Health Services for 17 years, retiring in 1974. Oscar was married to Viola Durant on May 4, 1940, at McCurtain. They have been married for 60 years. He was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Talihina. He served as lay leader in the United Methodist of the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference, where he served as trustee. He was very active in his church work. He was also a member of the Talihina Indian Club, the DAV, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, all of Talihina. Oscar was a loving husband, father and grandfather that will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Frank and Pipkin McCurtain; a sister; his son, Oscar McCurtain Jr.; and a daughter, Charlotte Warren. Oscar was loved by all, especially his grandchildren. He was blessed with many years. He is survived by his wife, Viola of the home; two daughters, Harriett Tehauno of Shawnee, and Iola Beaver of Locust Grove; five grandchildren, Ruben Tehuano, Tamera Tehauno, Patricia Tehauno, Michael McCurtain, and Grant Warren; and two great-grandchildren, Randy McCurtain and Shalonda McCurtain. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, at the Talihina High School Little Theater, with burial following at New Talihina Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Lois Neal and the Rev. Anna Stilwell will officiate. Pallbearers will be Nick Durant, Bill Durant, Vic Rogers, Kenneth Hensley, David Stephenson, and Tommy Christy. Honorary pallbearers will be Leslie James, Ray Henson, and James Ludlow. Arrangements are under the direction of Drake-Jones Funeral Home of Talihina. Services for Lester Leon Moore will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2000 at the First Baptist Church in Chelsea, with burial following in Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor at 12:30 p.m. The son of Robert Shirley and Juanita Douglas Moore was born Feb. 11, 1937, in Winganon. He attended school at Waller Elementary and later graduated from Chelsea High School. On June 1, 1956, he married Lois Raelene Kilpatrick in the Winganon Baptist Church. They made their home in northeast Oklahoma and moved to the Chelsea area from Pryor in 1986. Les was a retired bank president who had worked with several area banks. At the time of his death he was associated with the First National Bank of Chelsea in public relations. He had been involved in the Pryor American Legion Baseball Board. He was also a past member of the Kiwanis Club and Lions Club. He was serving on the Board of Directors of the Port of Catoosa and the Chelsea Boys and Girls Club. He was instrumental in founding the Chelsea Public Library when he served on the Chelsea Gas Authority Board. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Darrell Westenhaver. He is survived by his wife Raelene of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie and Ben Head of Pryor, and Angela and Jim Lewis of Arlington, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Cindy Moore of Claremore; six grandchildren, Kyle Head of Pryor, Charles, Hannah, and Rebecca Lewis of Arlington, Texas, and Ashlee and Douglas Moore of Claremore; his sister, Joyce Westenhaver of Chelsea; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Edna Moore of Bentonville, Ark., and Donald and Wilma Moore of Las Vegas, Nev.; father and mother-in-law, Ted and Helen Kilpatrick of Chelsea; and two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy and Sonja Space of Hutchison, Kan., and Kenneth and Linda Littleton of Chelsea.
