    3. The following obits appeared in the SW Times Record today: Dr. Millard C. Edds, 77, of Van Buren, formerly of Glenwood, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at his home. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas Medical School, a Navy veteran of World War II and was a doctor in Mulberry and Van Buren until he retired in 1993. He was a deacon and past chairman of deacons at Van Buren First Baptist Church, a member of the Crawford County and the Arkansas Medical Societies and the American Academy of Family Physicians. He was honored by the University of Arkansas Medical Science for having served 50 years in medical practice.Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Van Buren First Baptist Church. A private burial service is requested by the family at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren. Arrangements are under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.He is survived by his wife, Billie; one daughter, Laura Merrick of Van Buren; three sons, William "Bill" Edds of Van Buren, the Rev. Richard Edds of El Dorado, Kan. and Stephen Edds of Hot Springs; one sister, Evelyn Stowers of Little Rock; one brother, Edward Edds of Boca Raton, Fla.; and six grandchildren. KNOXVILLE - Lewis Luther Heyland, 48, of Knoxville, formerly of Fort Worth, Texas, died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, at a Russellville hospital.Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at Hagarville Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.He is survived by one sister, Darlene Minyard of Fort Worth, Texas; three brothers, Larry Heyland and wife, Cindy of Knoxville, William Heyland and wife, Nancy of Baird, Texas and Harold Ott of Lee, Mass. ALMA - Mary Juanita Monroe, 71, of Alma died Thursday, July 6, 2000, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and member of New life Pentecostal Church of Van Buren and the Dyer Community Center.Funeral will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the home of Donald and Debbie Fuller, 4306 Reed Lane, Alma, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma.She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Monroe Sr.; one daughter, Debbie Fuller of Alma; one son, Robert J. Monroe Jr. of Fort Smith; and 16 grandchildren, Misty Dawn, Bethany Ann, Teresa, Billy and Anita Cupples, Donald Douglas, Jessie Marie and William Woodrow Fuller, Amber Delane Roberts, Mercedes Mere Berry, Caylin Presley, Ray Star and Raven, Bobby, Kay and Hannah Monroe. OZARK - Betty Mae Bennett, 83, of Ozark died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, in an Ozark nursing home. She was a homemaker and the widow of Allen Bennett. GREENWOOD - Agnes E. Jarboe, 90, of Greenwood died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, in a local nursing home. MOUNTAINBURG - J.M. Miller, 75, of Mountainburg died Wednesday, July 5, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a farmer and retired as a Fish Culturist with the Federal Fish/Wildlife Service. He was the widower of Inez Miller and a member and elder of First Assembly of God in Mountainburg.The family will be conducting a memorial service Saturday at the First Assembly of God of Mountainburg. Burial will be at Portales Cemetery in Portales, N.M.
