RUTLEDGE BROUGHTON, 90, of Spiro, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was a laborer and truck driver. Mr. Broughton was born June 15, 1910 at Spiro to Jim and Stella Manning Broughton. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, James Richard Woolsey; his wife Myrtle (Holt) Broughton; one sister, Iva Mahar Chelf; and one brother, James W. Woolsey. Survivors include two sisters Lois Louise Steelman of Sanger, Calif. and Thelma M. Starrett of Spiro. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Mallory Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Myers officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro. Copyright © 2001
