    3. THOMAS BROCK SR. ROLAND - Thomas Brock Sr., 80, of Roland died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater. He was employed at Petit Jean, Acme Brick and Shipley Bakery.Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Roland with burial at Shady Grove Cemetery in Roland under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He is survived by his wife, Jewell; three daughters, Barbara D. Hudson of Muldrow, Kathy D. Brock of Garland, Texas, and Camenae L. Dooley of Roland; four sons, Thomas W. Brock of Fort Smith, Donald L. Brock of Bolingbrook, Ill., Allen R. Brock of Pittsboro, Ind., and Randall E. Brock of Barling; five sisters, Lottie Reynolds of Poteau, Rosie Lee Harris and Verna Glover, both of Berkeley, Calif., Omie Bean of Fresno, Calif., and Edith Kiff of Mount Morris, Mich.; one brother, Wyatt Brock Jr. of Flint, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. MARTHA PIRTLE HACKETT - Martha Virginia Pirtle, 74, of Hackett died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, in Fort Smith. She was a member of Daughters of the Texas Revolution. She was a Lutheran and the widow of Raymond Pirtle.Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Howe Cemetery under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener. She is survived by two daughters, Paula Ridgeway of Dallas and Cathy Sue Jennings of Tampa, Fla.; one son, James of Virginia Beach, Fla.; one sister, Patsy Jeter of Ivor, Va.; one brother, Kenneth Scott of Hackett; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. SAMUEL TOPHAM AUSTIN, Texas - Samuel B. Topham, 29, of Austin, Texas, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, in Austin. He was a computer consultant and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. today at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. He is survived by two sons, Carruth and Tristan, both of Eureka, Calif.; his parents, the Rev. Michael and Debbie Topham of Fort Smith; and one sister, Britt Humphries of Muldrow. . WILLIAM STOUDT BARLING - William R. "Bill" Stoudt, 78, of Barling died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, in a local nursing home. He was retired from Ace Hardware.Memorial service will be at a later date. The body was cremated under the direction of LewisFuneral Chapel of Fort Smith. He is survived by his wife, Dolores; four daughters, Penny Everett of Dallas and Terri Cliver, Sherri Ladner and Christy Stoudt, all of Charlotte, N.C.; three sons, Bill Stoudt of San Antonio, Texas, Steve Stoudt of Lavaca, and Chuck Mondier of Barling; one sister, Eleanor Carson of Port Huron, Mich.; two brothers, Frank of Sarsota, Fla., and Chuck of Atlanta; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. JAMES CLARK MENA - James Howard Clark, 86, of Mena died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, in Hot Springs. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He served in England, France, Belgium, Japan and the United States. He was a member of the 391st Bomb Group Association, World War II. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and was a Protestant. He was the widower of Ruby Hawkins Clark.Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Mena under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena. He is survived by one son, Larry Clark of Rimrock, Ariz.; and several other family members. GRACE LISS HOT SPRINGS - Grace S. Liss, 90, of Hot Springs died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in Hot Springs. She was a retired sales clerk and a member of Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of August Gilbert Liss.Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Mena under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena. She is survived by one daughter, Helen "Tommye" Chesshir of Hot Springs; one sister, Kathleen Kuntz of Hot Springs; three grandchildren; Mike and Bill Chesshir and Susan Johnson, all of Hot Springs; and four great-grandchildren. CHARLES SHEWARD RUDY - Charles Edward Sheward, 69, of Rudy died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, in his home. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was a retired dispatcher for ABF.Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel of Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren. He is survived by his wife, Donna; two daughters, Sharon Novak of Salina, Kan., and Cheryl Davis of Little Rock; five sons, Dwayne Sheward of Little Rock, David, Richard and Ronald Arthur, all of Van Buren, and Robert Arthur of Tulsa; his mother, Alice Delso of Tulsa; two sisters, Wilma Cummings of Sapulpa, Okla., and Doris Cabrera of Carlsbad, N.M.; and 13 grandchildren. DONALD COBB Donald Gillett Cobb, 86, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, in a local hospital. He was retired from Central Supply, was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post No. 31.
