    3. Monday Obituaries, October 23,2000 MARVIN HARTLEY Marvin "Rip" Hartley, 71, of Fort Smith died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, in his home. He was a retired bricklayer and an Army veteran of Korea. He received the Camp Star, the Korean Service Metal, the Bronze Oak Cluster and the Purple Heart. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church, the Bricklayers Union, the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.Graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith. He is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Judy Hartley Farrar of Fort Smith; one son, Ken of Lavaca; two sisters, Charlotte Loyd of Morrilton and Anna Louise Noel of Charleston; and five grandchildren, Suzanne Hartley Martin, Richard Hartley, Matthew Hartley, Amanda Farrar and Aimee Farrar. GLADYS ROSE BOLES - Gladys Beatrice Pettit Rose, 82, of Boles died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, in her home. She was a homemaker and a member of Boles Freewill Baptist Church. She was the widow of John T. Rose.Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Boles Freewill Baptist Church with burial at Chant Cemetery in Y City under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron. She is survived by one daughter, Anna Gayle House of Boles; two sons, Grady Mack Rose and G.W. "Dub" Rose, both of Boles; two sisters, Nadine Griglio of Harvey and Virgie Golden of Acorn; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. CALVIN WOODALL Calvin Wayne Woodall, 51, of Van Buren died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, in a local hospital. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was employed as a purchasing agent for Simmons Poultry.The body will be cremated under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren with committal services of cremains 9 a.m. Thursday at Fort Smith National Cemetery conducted by the VFW. He is survived by his wife, Helen; one daughter, Amie Richards of Fort Lewis, Wash.; two sons, Sherman H. and Kip J. Woodall, both of Jay, Okla.; three sisters, Judy Hobbs, Sherry Morris and Melba Wright, all of California; two brothers, Don of Texas and Paul of Kingfisher, Okla.; and three grandchildren. The body may be viewed from today until Tuesday. ROBERT NIGHSWONGER MULBERRY - Robert Nighswonger, 74, of Mulberry died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, in his home.The body will be cremated under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Mulberry. He is survived by one son, Tracy of Mulberry; two sisters, Peggy Placher of Chillicothie, Ill., and Donna Murry of Kewanee, Ill.; one brother, Gene of Cushing, Okla.; and one grandchild. The body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to noon today at the funeral home. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. to noon today at the funeral home. PAUL HARRISON POTEAU - Paul Newman Harrison, 67, of Poteau died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, in Poteau. He was retired from the Navy where he served in the Vietnam and Korean Wars, a pipefitter, worked at Bridgman's in Poteau for two years, was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 740 in Louisville, Ky., for 25 years and then Lodge No. 46 in Poteau, was a member of Southern Star Chapter No. 154 - OES in Louisville, Ky., and was a member of the pipefitters union. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. He is survived by his wife, Molly; five daughers, Elaine Pearl of Louisville, Ky., Kay Cason of Virginia Beach, Va., Sharon Crouch of Middleburg, Fla., Teri Stockstill of Lake City, Fla., and Jennifer Boisclaire of Palm Bay, Fla.; two sons, Bill "Buster" Perry of Paw Ealmyra, Va., and Billy Whittington of Houston; two sisters, Jean Vincent of Pinckney, Mich., and Doris "Dots" Owen of Louisville, Ky; 23 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. D. ADRIAN WILLIAMS D. Adrian Williams, 89, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was the retired president of R.A. Young and Son's Heavy Equipment, and attended First Presbyterian Church in Fort Smith.Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church with a private burial service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the National Cemtery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. He is survived by his wife, Jane; one stepdaughter, Carolyn Creekmore of Dallas; one stepson, Steve Creekmore III of Fort Smith; one brother, Harold Williams of Lewisville, Texas; and two grandchildren.
