He was an Army veteran, a retired independent truck driver for Acme Brick and a retired owner of Trucker’s Grill. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Belle Point Lodge No. 20 and a Methodist. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood United Methodist Church with burial with Masonic Rites at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. He is survived by his wife, Genella; two daughters, Debbie Koch, Greenwood, and Amy Sherrill, Columbia, Mo.; a son, John Sherrill, Greenwood; his mother, Martha Parker, Crossville, Tenn.; two sisters, Mamie Lou Cox, Crossville, Tenn., and Helen Walker, Muncie, Ind.; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Gene and Gary Herdison, Larry Byrd, Mark Ferguson, Steve Merrywell and Brian Wiggins, Roy Tipton and Arville Stallings. Raymond Jackson MOUNTAINBURG — Raymond Ray Jackson, 70, Mountainburg, died Sunday, April, 29, 2001, in a local hospital. He was a former employee of Pack Salvage in Fort Smith. He attended Bidville Assembly of God. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Bidville Assembly of God with burial at Bidville Cemetery in Crawford County under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Alma. He is survived by a daughter, Judy Sierman, Kansas City, Kan.; two sons, Larry Jackson, Mountainburg and John Jackson, Branson, Mo.; his mother, Alcie Jackson, Mountainburg; a sister, Esther Beller, Mountainburg; three brothers, Jack Jackson, Mountainburg, Bob Jackson, California and Dennis Jackson, Alabama; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jerimiah, Garry and Dave Jackson, Randy and Jack Beller and Michael Mayne. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Coy Butler Sr. WALDRON — Coy Imon Butler Sr., 86, Waldron, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a veteran of World War II and was retired from Hardwood Manufacturing. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron with burial at Pearson Cemetery in Waldron. Fern King CLARKSVILLE — Fern Ogilvie King, 86, Clarksville, died Friday, April 27, 2001, in Clarksville. She was born May 27, 1914, in Little Rock. She was a graduate of Little Rock High School and attended College of the Ozarks in Clarksville and Arkansas State Teachers College at Conway. She was a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church and past secretary of Women’s Association for 13 years, and a member of local NARFE Chapter in Clarksville. She was the widow of Oden C. King. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Harmony Presbyterian Church with burial at Harmony Cemetery in Harmony under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara McHenry, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a son, Barney King, Hughville, Md.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Charles Mainer RATCLIFF — Charles Elwin Mainer, 74, Ratcliff, died Wednesday, April 25, 2001, in Ratcliff. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired machinist. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris with burial at McVay Cemetery in Paris. He is survived by a sister, Martha Cole, Ventura, Calif.; a halfsister, Sharon Ray, California; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Haskell Cassalman, Max Harvell, Durward Whitman, Tom Enslen and Ivo Pettigrew. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mattie Posey Mattie Posey, 84, Fort Smith, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, in a local nursing home. She was a member of Mount Zion CME Church. The body was cremated under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith. She is survived by a companion, Robert Harris; and a niece, Anita Salinas, Wichita, Kan. Joseph Hugh Burns, 76, Pocola, died Monday, April 30, 2001, in his home. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and retired from B.F. Goodrich, the Fort Smith Police Department and the Arkansas State Building Services. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. He is survived by his wife, Norma Mae Burns of the home; three daughters, Mary Alice Sutton, Clewiston, Fla., Jennifer McCoy and Peggy Levings, both of Pocola; a son, John Burns, Fort Smith; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Robert I. “Bob” Ragsdale, was born Oct. 24, 1931, in Hot Springs, departed April 29, 2001, in Van Buren. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ragsdale; a son, Joseph Ragsdale and daughter, Theresa Avey, all of Van Buren, and granddaughters, Morgan, Mattie and Hannah Avey. A sister, Betty Ragsdale of Hot Springs. He was retired Army and a Purple Heart recipient. He was stationed in Japan, Germany, and served in Korea and Vietnam. He was currently employed by the Rausch-Coleman Company of Barling, in new home construction in Bentonville. Graveside funeral service with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith. Services are under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren. The sermon will be delivered by the Reverend Paul Walker, and eulogy by E.R. “Buddy” Coleman. Pallbearers will be Richard Berry, Leroy Alexander, Jim Avey, Bobby Callaway, Don Boshears and Jim Phelan. Honorary pallbearers will be his many friends and co-workers in Arkansas and Oklahoma, whom are too numerous to mention. Joseph Drew Lindsey Sr., 57, Roland, departed this life Saturday, April 28, 2001, in a Crawford County hospital. He was born Feb. 8, 1944, in Fort Smith, the son of the late Drewfus and Adele Kear Burns. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Betty of the home; one son, Joseph Lindsey Jr. of Roland; two daughters, Sandi Lindsey of Tulsa and Tracy Lindsey, Fort Smith; three sisters, Jenevia Corbin, Grapevine, Texas, Melba Mayer, Hinesville, Ga., and Nadine Baker, Beckman, La.; four brothers, Bill, North Richland Hills, Texas, Jack and Richard, both of Roland, Dennis, Watauga, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, David Lindsey. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today, May 1, 2001, in Lewis Funeral Chapel, Fort Smith with burial at Roland City Cemetery officiated by the Reverend Bob Winton.
