ODESSA, Texas - Johnny Elbert Bowen, 47, Odessa, Texas, formerly of Pocola, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, in Odessa, Texas. He was born Oct. 13, 1953, in Oklahoma City. He was a cemetery preneed counselor and a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Pocola and active in the Vision for Life Organization. Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in Trinity Baptist Church in Pocola with burial at Milton Cemetery in Milton, Okla., under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Pocola. He is survived by his wife, Suze; a son, Johnathan Bowen, Pocola; a daughter, Alicia Bowen, Pocola; two stepsons, Phillip and Aaron Westmoreland, both of Odessa, Texas; his father, Jack Bowen, McCurtain; two sisters, Lorita Riley, Hartshorne, and Lois Carry, Keota; several nieces and nephews..... He was a fine person and a good friend. He had a wonderful outlook on life and was always willing to help anyone in need, he will be truly missed... Johnny was a member of one of LeFlore County, Oklahoma's oldest Pioneer families, through his mother, Thelma Lovell Bowen...
