    3. The following obits appeared in the SW Times today: Bessie Cogburn MENA - Bessie D. Cogburn, 84, of Mena died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, in a Mena hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Baptist Church.Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the New Hope Baptist Church with burial at Shady Cemetery in Mena under the direction of Hall Funeral Service in Mena. She is survived by her husband, Melvin "Rooster" Cogburn; one daughter, Ada Mae Wright of Stigler; two sons, William of Mena and John of Shady; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Dene, Gene, and Danny Hendrix, Sam Claburn, Jimmy Lawrence and Pete Hillard. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons. Tyler McKnight CLARKSVILLE - Tyler Nathanial McKnight, infant son of David W. McKnight and Lakisha M. Farris of Clarksville, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, in a local hospital.Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with burial at West Mount Zion Cemetery in Hartman. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Madge Green LAVACA - Madge A. Green, 89, of Lavaca died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2000, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Lavaca. She was the widow of Louie Green.Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church of Lavaca with burial at Oak Valley Cemetery, south of Lavaca, under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston. She is survived by three sons, Maurice and Rayburn, both of Lavaca, and Richard of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two sisters, Elsie Jennings and Lossie Andrews, both of Lavaca; one brother, Leland Gantt of Fort Smith; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Kitty Palmer Kitty Virginia Palmer, 81, of Van Buren died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, in a nursing home. She was a retired registered nurse and a member of the Second Baptist Church of Monticello. She was the widow of Roy Charles Palmer.Funeral was Monday at Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Home in Monticello with burial at Enon Cemetery in Drew County. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Dean Bailey of Conway; two sons, Charles of Lavaca and Jerry of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Marie Johnston and Ineva Russell, both of Monticello; and seven grandchildren. Elvira Miller MENA - Elvira Miller, 78, of Mena died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, at a local nursing home. She is survived by two sons, Donald and Ray, both of Mena; five sisters, Ruby Yell of Medford, Ore., and Wortense McKee, Donie Baker, Dulene Holomshek and Polly Brown, all of Mena; one brother, James Golden of Mena; five grandchildren, Steve, Jamie, Tony, Jason and Kathy Miller; and two great-grandchildren. Oscar Hall LITTLE ROCK - Oscar Maxey "Max" Hall, 64, of Little Rock died Friday, Sept. 15, 2000, at his home. He attended Little Rock High School, Columbia Military Academy and the University of Arkansas, where he earned a bachelor' s and master's degree in civil engineering. He was a professional engineer and land surveyor in Arkansas. He served in the Army and Arkansas National Guard and was a helicopter pilot in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, the Purple Heart and the Air Medal with 15 Oak Leaf Clusters.Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Elmdale Baptist Church of Springdale with burial at Elm Springs Cemetery under the direction of Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. He is survived by his wife, Margie Lyn; two daughters, Dr. Robin Lundstrum of Springdale and Toni Crowder of Fredericksburg, Va.; one brother, John W. Mitchell Wormuth MOUNTAINBURG - Mitchell Wormuth, 74, of Mountainburg died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000, in a local hospital. He was a teletype technician and a World War II veteran and a D.A.V. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Navy Unit citation, and Presidential citation, the Asiatic-Pacific medal with four campaigns and Japan occupation medals. He was a member of Revis Hills Assembly of God.Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Thursday with full military honors by the Broken Arrow Marine Corps at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith. He is survived by one daughter, Michelle Cowan of Mountainburg; one son, David of North Carolina; brothers and sisters; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
