    3. The following obits appeared in the SW Times Record today: ALMA - Lela E. Jones, 94, of Alma died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000 in a local hospital. She was a homemaker, member of the Mountainview Methodist Church in Alma and the widow of Ancel Jones. Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.She is survived by one son, Arles Jones of Alma; four grandchildren, Brenda Schwartz and Jimmy Denniston both of Houston, Texas and Tonda Dean and Dawn Arnold both of Alma; and six great-grandchildren. . H. Frances Hoben, 84, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in Pocola. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a homemaker. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith.She is survived by her husband, E.V. "Dick" Hoben; two daughters, Marsha Blahitka of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas and Carolyn Spencer of Little Rock; four grandchildren, Jason Spencer of Little Rock, Michael Blahitka of Allen, Texas, Marni Hollingsworth of Osh-Kosh, Wis. and Mark Blahitka of Fort Worth, Texas; and three great-grandchildren. ROLAND - Viola Angeline Burchfield, 95, of Roland died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2000, in Roland. She was a housewife-homemaker, founding member of the Eastside Freewill Baptist Church in Muldrow, instrumental in establishing the senior citizens center in Muldrow and the widow of Enoch Wilson (E.W.) Burchfield. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Eastside Freewill Baptist Church with burial at Akins Cemetery northeast of Sallisaw under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Muldrow.She is survived by one daughter, Nathalee Rachels of Roland; one son, Billy G. Burchfield of Tulsa; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. MULDROW - Meredith Jo Walker, 27, of Muldrow died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker. The body was cremated under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home of Fort Smith. She is survived by one daughter, Tricia Ann Walker of Muldrow; one son, Jonathan Walker of Muldrow; her parents, John and Peggy Pacek of Muldrow; her maternal grandmother, Irma Carter of Fort Smith; three sisters, Ida Sanchez of Albuquerque, N.M., Tracey Lopez of Las Vegas, Nev. and Elizabeth Willet of Muldrow; and seven brothers, Milo Pacek of Broadview, Ill., Alex Pacek of Mesa, Matthew Pacek of Los Angeles, Calif., John Pacek of Freeport, Ill., Timothy and James Pacek, both of Muldrow and Michael Pacek of Pontiac, Ill. OZARK - Lois Dane, 92, of Ozark died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in Ozark. She was a homemaker and attended Christian Church.Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Highland Cemetery in Ozark.She is survived by two stepdaughters, Joanne Young of Ozark and Patricia Crane of Brookhaven, Miss.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Verna Mae Brown, 95, of Fort Smith died Friday, August 11, 2000, in a nursing home. She was the former owner of Buster Brown General Store and member of Wyatt Memorial Methodist Church. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith.She is survived by two daughters, Wilma Jean Brown of Fort Smith and Shirley Shay of Sarasota, Fla.; four grandchildren, Tom Shay of St. Petersburg, Fla., Nancy Tritt of Scranton, Michelle Rule of Sarasota, Fla. and Tim Shay of Coral Springs, Fla.; and eight grandchildren. SALLISAW - Maude Walters, 92, of Sallisaw died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, in Sallisaw. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Sallisaw. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Copic Baptist Church in Nicut with burial at Seabolt Cemetery in Nicut under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw.She is survived by one daughter, Margaret Palmer of Eufaula, Okla.; two sons, Dewey and Darrell, both of Sallisaw; one brother, Olen Flanagan of Sallisaw; 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren. .
