    3. The following obits appeared in the SW Times on Saturday: Lucy Barker HOWE - Lucy Marie Barker, 95, of Howe died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, in Heavener. She was a retired telephone operator and worked in the defense plant during World War II in California. She operated the Cottage Grocery Store. She was a member of Heavener Christian Church. She was the widow of Herbert Barker Sr.Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Memorial Park in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home in Heavener. She is survived by three sons, Herbert of Anaheim, Calf., Norman of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Ray of Howe; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Naomi Ramos Naomi J. Ramos, 81, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, in a local hospital. She was president of the Resident Nursing Council and a member of the Bible Ambassador Club of Methodist Nursing Home in Fort Smith. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Charleston. Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church in Charleston with burial at Hampton Cemetery north of Branch under the direction of Smith Mortuary in Charleston. She is survived by two daughters, Jane Ann Trimble of Denton, Texas, and Debra Allen of Fort Smith; one son, Joe Ramos Jr. of Charleston; two sisters, Ada Asher and Jean Laws, both of Fort Smith; one stepsister, Marolyn Price of Fort Smith; one brother, Sam Thomson of Charleston; one stepbrother, Tom Pettigrew of Somis, Calif.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.Pallbearers will be Heath, Gary and Jason Allen, Joseph Ramos, Mike Trimble and Brent Roberson.. Ruth Klein Ruth M. Klein, 79, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, in a local nursing home. She was retired from Weldon Williams and LIck. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.Rosary will be 7 p.m. Sunday at Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith. Mass will be 10 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Turner of Fayetteville; one son, Nick Klein of Benton; two sisters, Inez Barrow of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Doris Carnell of Muskogee, Okla.; and one grandchild, Lindsay Turner of Fayetteville.Pallbearers will be Mark Koenigseder, Jim Bearden and Dennis Rupp.. Mabel Foster OZARK - Mabel Elizabeth Foster, 66, Ozark died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church in Ozark.Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Gus Elam Home Place with burial at Nichols Chapel Cemetery in Altus under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark. She is survived by one daughter, Shirley A. Hibbard of London, Ky.; five sons, Jimmy D. Stout of Houston, Allen R. Thomas of Denning, Johnny W. Thomas and David M. and Ricky D. Thomas, all of Tulsa; three sisters, Virginia Walker and Sandra Waller both of Ozark and Nancy Pool of Altus; three brothers, Ray, Carlos and Robert Elam all of Ozark; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mel Wilson, David Waller, Michael Thomas, Doug Mohr, Steven, Jeffrey, and Ashley Wheeler, David and Eric Elam. Steven Joyce Steven Robert Joyce, 40, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, in Van Buren. He was a baseball and basketball coach for the Van Buren Boys and Girls Club in Van Buren. He was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church in Van Buren.Arrangements are pending at Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren. He is survived by his wife, Carree; two sons, Taylor and Connor of the home; his mother, Jean Wilson of Fort Smith; his father, T. Bob Joyce of Mansfield; paternal grandparents, Robert and Carol Joyce of Mansfield; two sisters, Diane Hart and Connie Lang, both of Fort Smith. Warren Taff BARLING - Warren E. "Buster" Taff, 68, of Barling died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, in Fort Smith. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired materials manager for Trane Company for 38 years. He was a member of the Traffic Club of Fort Smith and a lifetime member of Barling United Methodist Church.Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Oak Valley Cemetery in Lavaca. He is survived by his wife, Doris; three daughters, Debbie Davis and Susan Brown, both of Barling, and Janet Long of Brewton, Ala.; one son, Warren Jr. of Barling; four sisters, Joyce Moore and Wanda Graham, both of Lavaca, Jolene DuVall of Fort Smith and Erdean Kirby of Cashaha, La.; two brothers, Vernon of Booneville and James C.
