    3. The following obits appeared in the SW Times today: GERALD EVANS Gerald "Jerry" Evans, 50, of Van Buren died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, in Harrisonville, Mo. He was a master plumber for Action Inc. in Barling and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel. The body will be cremated following the service. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Kay; three daughters, Tami Vaughn and Nora Kathleen Wiley, both of Van Buren, and Tanya Louise Evans of the home; six sons, Thomas Evans of Uniontown, Thomas Jeremy McNeill and Charles Bentley, both of Fort Smith, and Bobby Eugene Goss, Danny Bentley and Mark Litchford, all of Van Buren; his parents, Linda and Louis Evans of Van Buren; one sister, Kathy Sanders of Lucerne Valley, Calif.; one brother, Rick of Little Rock; and seven grandchildren. ELVA KIDD MULDROW - Elva E. Kidd, 94, of Muldrow died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, in Greenwood. She was of the Pentecostal faith and the widow of Robb Kidd. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cottonwood Baptist Church with burial at Cottonwood Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She is survived by one daughter, Melinda Lovene Belt of Huntington; one stepdaughter, Lola Estep of Sallisaw; one stepson, R.V. Kidd of Oklahoma; 25 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren. MARY CARLSON Mary Elenor Haralson Carlson, 79, of Fort Smith died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, in Fort Smith. She was a homemaker, member of the First Presbyterian Church of Baytown, Texas, member of the DAR, PEO Sisterhood, Phi Beta Phi Sorority and the Service League and the widow of Eugene C. Carlson.Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jo Carlson of Fort Smith; two sons, John of Fort Smith and Chris of Alpena; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. RUBY LUMAN HODGEN, Okla. - Ruby Luman, 56, of Hodgen, Okla., died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, in Fort Smith. She was a lifelong resident and member of the Independence Baptist Church.Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Reichert Cemetery in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener. She is survived by her husband, Odice; three daughters, Lisa Hughes of Plainview, Wendy McGuire of Lavaca and Karen Luman of Heavener; one son, Odice Paul Luman of Fargo, N.D.; two sisters, Joanne Cripps of Heavener and Carla Pryor of Tulsa; three brothers, Raymond, David and Joe Massey, all of Heavener; and five grandchildren. MADELENE REMER CARLILE COMMUNITY, Okla. - Madelene L. Remer, 81, of the Carlile Community, Okla., died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, in Okmulgee, Okla. She was a homemaker, attended Round Mountain Community Church west of Vian and was the widow of Ed Remer.Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gore Cemtery in Gore under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. She is survived by six daughters, Pearl LuAnne Bennett and Jewell Jean Turner, both of Inola, Okla., Sandra Kay Brockman of Vian, Marie Annette (Susie) Remer of Tulsa, Virgie Chandler of Muskogee, Okla., and Sue Carlile of Tahlequah, Okla.; four sons, James Edward Remer and Neal Allyn Remer, both of Vian, Charles Edwin Remer of Okmulgee and Woody David Remer of Kellyville, Okla.; one sister, Geneva Remer of Vian; two brothers, Paul Ingle of Granbury, Texas, and Mike Ingle of Sacramento, Calif.; one half-brother, Alec Ingle of Wichita Falls, Texas; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Joseph and Clayton Bennett, Wade, Bradley and Joshua Remer and Shannon and Christopher Barnes. MARY RISENHOOVER SALLISAW - Mary Lois (Loisy) Risenhoover, 68, of Sallisaw died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, in Muskogee, Okla. She was a sales clerk and a 1950 graduate of Sallisaw High School.Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Sallisaw City Cemtery in Sallisaw. She is survived by two daughters, Edwina Earlene Smith and Lisa Jo Nimmo, both of Sallisaw; one son, Edwain Earl Risenhoover of Glencoe, Okla.; her mother, Minnie Elsie Reed of Sallisaw; three sisters, Marian Doris Goodwin of Cherokee, Okla., Erma Merrill of Sallisaw and Margaret Annward of Broken Arrow, Okla.; one brother, George Doyle Reed of Sallisaw; three grandchildren, Stacy LaRae Sweeney and Lindsey Jo Nimmo, both of Sallisaw, and Steven Keith Tubbs of Phoenix; and one great-grandchild. SAMUEL MOORE Samuel J. Moore, 58, of Van Buren died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, in a local hospital. He was retired from Allen Canning Co. and a Baptist.Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at New Cemetery in Mulberry. He is survived by his wife, Betty; three daughters, Barbara Mongold and Jaqueta Moore, both of Alma, and Allie Fuller of Mulberry; two sons, Jerry and Roy, both of Van Buren; his mother, Allie Shellenberger of Van Buren; one sister, Sue Corley of Van Buren; five brothers, Paul, Dean and James, all of Van Buren, Larry of Minneapolis and Joe of Holdenville, Okla.; and 14 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be James, Cris, Roy and Jerry Moore, James and Curtis Cowan and Buck Hallmark. LYLE JOHNSTON Lyle Burton Johnston, 78, of Fort Smith died Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, in a local hospital. He was the owner/operator of Johnston's Wrecker Service, a member and deacon of Bluff Avenue Baptist Church, an Army veteran of World War II, a 32nd degree Mason, member of the Amrito Grotto and a past Sebastian County coroner.Funeral service will be noon Tuesday at Bluff Avenue Baptist Church with burial at Fort Smith National Cemetery under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, David and Gary, both of Fort Smith; four grandchildren, Aaron, Neil, Cananda and Nikki; and three great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be the deacons of Bluff Avenue Baptist Church.
