Abt. 1871, Fort Smith, Sebastion Co., Arkansas Children: Rebecca Jane Remy, b. 19 May 1831, Lawrence Co., Kentucky, d. 15 September 1923, Amos, Sebastion Co., Arkansas, m. 17 March 1859, Isom Powell Daniel William Remy, b. 15 July 1833, Lawrence Co, Kentucky, d. 22 November 1899, Fort Smith, Sebastion Co., Arkansas, m. 11 March 1855, Mary Amanda McKenzie Eleanor Elizabeth Eleanora Jane Nellie Ramey, b. 19 March 1835, d. 02 May 1909, location unknown....could have been Ft. Smith, AR or St. Louis, MO, m. 1st, Unknown Horsley, m. 2nd Amos Daniel, m. 3rd. 15 June 1854, Carter County, Kentucky, USA, Elzey Virgin McGinnis, b. 05 January 1837, IN, d. 03 January 1865, Vanceburg, Lewis County, Kentucky, USA (Notes Elzey Virgin McGinnis: Elzey, according to his tombstone, served in the Union Army during the Civil War in Co. K, 23rd Kentucky Infantry. He was wounded during the battle of Shiloh, by cannon fire and died. His wife and four children later moved to St. Louis, Missouri. Elzey's name is listed on the war memorial in front of the Lewis County Courthouse at Vanceburg. According to his military records, Elzey was 5' 10" and had black eyes and black hair.)
