    2. Michael Lee Reed, 49, of Fort Smith, died Thursday, July 5, 2001. He was born Oct. 10, 1951 in Woodland, Calif. to Carl and Jean Reed. He was an expediter and worked for Whirlpool for 29 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his father, on Oct. 9, 2000. He is survived by his wife Janet of the home; one daughter, Christy Reed Ramsey of Poteau; one son, Kevin Reed of Fort Smith; two stepchildren, Renee Broyles of Fort Smith and Chris Broyles of Hackett; his mother of Poteau; two sisters, Mary Mortimer of Oceanside, Calif. and Gayle Furr of Poteau; two brothers, Carl Don Reed of Oklahoma City and David Reed of Tulsa; five grandchildren, Karli Beger, Cassie Beger, Steven Reed, Brookelynn Reed and Isabella Brewer; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 10 at Calvary Assembly of God Church in Poteau with the Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. Rachel Oleta NICHOLS, 70, of Poteau, died Thursday, July 5, 2001. She was born Oct. 16, 1930 in Poteau to Ed and Lillian Harrison. She was a homemaker who loved to decorate her house and loved taking care of the flowers in her yard. She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Harrison and her parents. Survivors include her first husband and father of her children, Paul Nichols; two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Gwenda Nichols of Tulsa and Larry and Judy Nichols of Cameron; two daughters and sons-in-law, Paulette and Bill Harris of Cameron and Shirley and Joe Neff of Poteau; four brothers, Leroy Harrison of Tulsa, Ed Jr. Downey of California, Denver Harrison of Shreveport, La., and Robert Harrison of Louisiana; four sisters, Nancy Green of Virginia, Evelyn Kowalk of Tulsa, Barbara Keith of Wisconsin and Beverly Ann Sousa of California; grandchildren, Frank Nichols Jr., Tony Nichols, Lisa Sawyer, Ronnie Sloan, Jon Sloan, Marie Pitchford, Shawna Martin and Tonya Teeter; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of friends. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 9 at Evans Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Jimmy D. Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. Pallbearers will be Frank Nichols Jr., Tony Nichols, Ronnie Sloan, Jonathan Sloan, Kevin Sawyer and Donnie Martin. Delores Ann DEHART, 55, of Fort Smith, formerly of Heavener, died Thursday, July 5, 2001. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by one son, Kenny Dehart of Unionville, Va.; four sisters, Laura Hill of Waldron, Ark., Bonnie Wilson of Monroe, Sally Taylor of Chester, Sharlene "Sheny" Cleveland of Texas; six brothers, Jerry Cleveland of Elkriver, Minn., Ronnie Cleveland of Hamlake, Denny Cleveland of Coonrapids, Larry Cleveland of Brooklyn Park, Earl Cleveland of Calumet and Randy Goodin of Purdy, Miss.; and two grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 9 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
