    2. Thomas Elmo CRANDELL, 62, of Cameron, passed away Monday, July 23, 2001, in Poteau. He was born March 24, 1939 in Poteau to Charles Alva and Clara (Barnes) Crandell. On April 16, 1957, he and Oma Mae Carpenter were joined in marriage. He was a truck driver and machinist for Hamlin Factory of Poteau before retirement. He was a lifelong resident of Cameron. Mr. Crandell was preceded in death by his father; one son, Johnny Ray Crandell; one daughter, Sherril Williams; and two brothers, Jerry and Roger Crandell. Mr. Crandell is survived by his wife of forty-four years; three sons, Thomas E. Crandell Jr., Billy Don Crandell and Michael Carpenter, all of Cameron; four daughters, Kathy Rogers of Spiro; Jeanie Hale of Cameron; Debra Daily of Alma, Ark.; and Melissa Williams of Cameron; his mother, Clara (Barnes) Crandell of Michigan; four brothers, Bob Crandell of Poteau; Don Crandell of Oklahoma City, Larry Crandell, of Poteau, and Phillip Crandell, of Tulsa; three sisters, Pat Crandell of Michigan; Judy Tackett of Michigan; and Emma Burch of Fort Worth, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Johnny Farrar and LeFlore County District One employees. Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, at Greenhill Cemetery in Cameron with the Rev. Robert Hill officiating. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home of Poteau. Fielder HOWARD, 85, of Pocola, died Monday, July 23, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was born Nov. 6, 1915 at Braden to Frank and Marriah Person Howard. He was a retired smelter worker, service station owner and Postmaster of Pocola and a member of Pocola Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; one sister; and two granddaughters. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Hazel; two daughters, Pat Sebo and husband Charles of Spiro and Carolyn Sue Humphreville and husband Bob of Pocola; eight sons, Franklin and wife Patricia, Jimmy and wife Linda, Larry and wife Billie, Floyd and wife Mary, Ricky and wife Barbara and Billy Howard, all of Pocola, Charles Howard and wife Carol of Muldrow and James Howard and wife Donna of Van Buren; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 26 at the Christian Grove Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs. Jimmy Waldrop and Clifford Myers officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro. Pallbearers will be his sons. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons. Fred HARDIN, 79, of Bakersfield, Calif., died Thursday, July 19, 2001. He was a veteran of World War II, retired from Southern Pacific Railroad and a member of the Retired Railroaders Workers Club. Survivors include his wife Wanda; one daughter, Sharon Hardin of Bakersfield; four sons, John, Gary, Bruce and Kevin, all of Bakersfield; one sister, Imogene Sizemore of Heavener; three brothers, Ed of Heavener and Marvin and Dean, both of Poteau; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 27 in Hontubby Cemetery in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
