Obituary of Ruben Freeman: RUBEN FREEMAN ALMA - Ruben Freeman, 60, of Alma died Sunday, June 3, 2001, in his home. He was a retired utility worker at Van Buren Canning Company and a retired farmer, attended Mulberry Assembly of God and was a lifelong resident of Crawford County. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Love Cemetery in Alma. He is survived by two daughters, Wendy Freeman of Moore, Okla., and Vickie Freeman of Arkansas; three sisters, Rosie Lee Schmitt of Greensburg, Kan., Ruth Lindsey Ellison of Fort Smith and Betty Davis of Keota; three brothers, Edwards Freeman Jr. of Ada, Joe Freeman of Fort Smith and Robert Freeman of Alma; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be David Freeman, Idus Evans, Eugene Davis, Gary Daniels, Hubert Staggs and Jesse and Theodore Lindsey. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
