    2. Harry Calven CROWE Jr., 77, of Talihina, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in Oklahoma City. He was born March 5, 1924 in Chattanooga, Tenn. to Harry Calven Crowe Jr. and Edista Crowe. He married Margaret Brannon April 8, 1965 in Lafayette, Ga. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Dorothy Crowe. Survivors include his wife Margaret of the home; two sons, Ronnie Crowe and Leon Crowe, both of Savannah, Ga.; two granddaughters, Cherie Baugh and Crystal Lowe, both of Talihina; several other grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Derryberry of Lafayette, Ga. and several cousins and friends. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23 in the New Talihina City Cemetery with the Rev. Carrol Fitzgerald officiating. Services are under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home. Eugene Clyde SAGE, 66, of Talihina, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was born Jan. 12, 1935 in Buffalo Valley to Clyde and Opal Watson Sage. He married Virgie Marie Melton Aug. 8, 1954 at Talihina. He was a resident of the Talihina area for most of his life and was a member of the Buffalo Valley Assembly of God Church.He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Delphia Foutch; and one brother, Darrell Sage. Survivors include his wife Virgie of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Regina and Larry Kennedy of Buffalo Valley, Diana Williams of McAlester and Debra and Lane Pullman of Muse; five grandchildren, Jason Kennedy of Buffalo Valley, Raymond and Carrie Kennedy of Muse, Justin Williams and Kristen Williams, both of McAlester; three brothers and four sisters, Freda Higgason of Fresno, Calif., Claudean Erdner of Sand Springs, Clyda Hunter and Sid Sage of Talihina, Sylvia Sage of Quapaw and Bob Sage of Oraville, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews.Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 22 at the Buffalo Valley Assembly of God Church with the Revs. Lloyd Earp, Chester Cooley and Jerry Don Earp officiating. Burial will follow at the Sage Family Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home. Juanita Goodin Juanita Loreen Allen GOODIN, 77, of Stigler, died Sunday, June 17, 2001, in Riverside, Calif. She was born Jan. 3, 1924 in Stigler. She was a faithful member of the United Pentecostal Church and loved singing hymns and doing auxiliary work. Of all the things she loved to do it was baking and she could always be found in the kitchen baking her famous apple pie or her oatmeal cookies by the dozens. Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Glenda King of Salt Lake City, Utah and Carolyn and Phil Everson of Moreno Valley, Calif.; two sons and daughter-in-law, David King of Oklahoma City and Kirby and Linda James of Plum, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Jack Pierce of Panama; one brother, Mark Allen Jr. of Washington; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Friday, June 22 in Milton Cemetery under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. Gladyce O. (Hunter) DAVIS, 97, of Gilbert, Ariz., died Wednesday, June 20, 2001. She was a member of the Poteau First Baptist Church for many years. She grew up in Haileyville, graduating from high school there, then attended Oklahoma University. She married William O. Davis and they lived in Texas. After her husband's death in 1939 she returned to Poteau to be near her sister Jessie K. McBee and brother Claude of Wilburton. She had taught school at Crowder before her marriage then after returning to Oklahoma she taught at Howe. She resumed her education at OU, earning a bachelor's degree, then became the Home Economics teacher at Poteau High School in 1942 until her retirement in 1969. She also was a sponsor of a chapter of FHA and an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She eventually earned her Masters degree from OU by going to summer school. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy Lancaster and Sue Lombardi; three grandchildren, Robert William Lombardi, Genanne Lombardi and David Lancaster; one niece, Joy Hunter Petty; and one nephew, George Hunter McBee. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 26 at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne under the direction of Mills Funeral Home of Hartshorne. There will also be a memorial service for Mrs. Davis at the Poteau First Baptist Church Wednesday, June 27 at 10 a.m.
