    3. Ruby Wise Ruby Wise, 89, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a retired pastry cook for Luby's Cafeteria. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith under the direction of Putman Funeral Home of Fort Smith. She is survived by three daughters, Freeda Bechetel of Richardson, Texas, Ollie Camp of Cedar Hill, Texas, and Marie Melgoza of Larado, Texas; a brother, Fred Taylor of New Mexico; five grandchildren, Sheila, Jason and Lee Cross, Stacey Young and Michael Ross; and six great-grandchildren. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852. Samuel Kirkpatrick Samuel W. Kirkpatrick, 82, of Fort Smith died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was the retired president of Fort Smith Butane Company and retired captain of the Marine Corps serving in World War II. He was past president of the Arkansas Butane Association, first president of the Southside Rotary Club, past member of Hardscrabble Country Club board of directors, member and past elder and trustee of First Presbyterian Church, fund-raising chairman and project manager of First Presbyterian Educational Building project, a member of University of Texas Alumni and the USGA Golf Association. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. today in First Presbyterian Church with burial at First Presbyterian Columbarium in Fort Smith under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Fort Smith. He is survived by his wife, Frances; a daughter, Kristan Kirkpatrick of Fort Smith; a sister, Dr. Jane Kirkpatrick Koonce of Glenview, Ill.; two nieces and three nephews.
