Thelma Phillips McCURTAIN, Okla. - Thelma Phillips, 94, of McCurtain, Okla., died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, in Stigler. She was the widow of Joe Phillips. Mary Lou Lyon HOT SPRINGS - Mary Lou Hampton Lyon, 73, of Hot Springs, formerly of Booneville, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, in her home. She was a charter member of Hot Springs Baptist Church, a graduate of Booneville High School, attended the University of Arkansas, was a member of Delta Gamma sorority, was president of the Federation of Women's Clubs in Springhill, La., worked for the Fort Smith Police Department and then retired from the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center. She was working in Pensacola, Fla., where she was a computer programmer and insurance agent. Tate, 76, of Booneville, was born in De Valls Bluff, Nov. 8, 1924 and died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, in Booneville. Dr. Tate was a retired optometrist, a member of First Baptist Church in Booneville, Lion's Club, Booneville Chamber of Commerce and the Arkansas Optometry Association. He was also an avid golfer.
