WANDA L WOOD, 75, of Jenks, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001. She was born Feb. 19, 1926 in Cameron to Sherman and Helen Chronister. She graduated from Cameron High School in 1943 and in Northeastern State University in 1947. She is survived by her husband Frank of the home; one sister, Betty Shiflett of Cameron. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 9 at Jenks United Methodist Church with the Rev. Keith Cressman officiating. Burial will follow in Bixby Cemetery under the direction of Ninde Funeral Directors of Jenks. Pallbearers will be Randy Shiflett, Jim Wood, Darrell Wood, Jim McHaney, Terry Rabon, and Rodney Martindale. JANE "MISS BETTY" WARD, 86, of Heavener, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, in Poteau. She was a lifelong resident of Heavener, a member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the Eastern Star and the Oklahoma State Retired Teacher's Assoc. She was a retired school teacher from Heavener Grade School and was known by her students as Miss Betty. Survivors include her stepdaughter Betty Jeanne Ward Poulin of Argyle, Texas; two stepgrandchildren; five step great-grandchildren and several step great-great-grandchildren; and many special friends who were her family. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 9 at First United Methodist Church in Heavener. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener. FAYE ODEAN PERKINS, 85, of Poteau, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001. She was born Aug. 26, 1916 in Hot Springs, Ark. She was a teacher. Survivors include her husband Archie Perkins of the home; two daughters, Barbara Fetui of Poteau and Joyce Fite of Pismo Beach, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends. Graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Springhill Cemetery Pavilion in Monroe with the Rev. Lonnie Disalvo officiating.
