    2. EVES E TABER, 89, of Fort Smith died Sunday, March 11, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was a retired employee of White Dairy Ice Cream Company after 50 years service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel Taber after 63 years of marriage. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith. He is survived by one daughter, June Douglas of Fort Smith; two sons, Ron and James Taber, both of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, Crystal Dickson, Brent and Tony Taber, Mark Douglas, Lana Hunt and Melody Middleton; and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mark Douglas, Tony and Brent Taber, Gary Hunt and Dave Dickson. OUIDA A WINGS, 92, of Fort Smith died Monday, March 12, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a retired licensed practical nurse and a homemaker. She attended the First Assembly of God in Van Buren. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren. OLA FITZJARRELL, 91, of Lavaca passed away Saturday, March 10, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was born July 7, 1909, in Akers, Mo., the daughter of the late Jasper and Della (Summers) Springer. Ola was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Lavaca for 70 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Walter Fitzjarrell, one son, Earl Fitzjarrell, and one brother, Arville Stringer. Ola is survived by one daughter, Lucille Lyle of Fort Smith; a daughter-in-law, Louise Fitzjarrell of Tulsa; two grandsons, David Lyle of Fort Smith and Jerry Lyle of Booneville; three granddaughters, Marcia Melvin of Fort Smith, Katie Kelly of Virginia Beach, Va., and Suzie Wagner of Broken Arrow; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 12, at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Lavaca with burial at Oak Valley Cemetery, Lavaca, officiated by the Rev. Leonard Crowder and Mr. Herman Weaver. She was a charter member and active member of Oakland Street Full Gospel Church and a homemaker. SALLISAW — FREDERICK DALE GREEN, 75, of Sallisaw died Friday March 9, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was county attorney for Sequoyah County and maintained a private practice before retiring as associate district judge. He attended First Baptist Church in Sallisaw, was a 1943 graduate of Sallisaw High School and attended the University of Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma City University School of Law and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Sallisaw with burial at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; two daughters, Amy Davis of Muskogee, Okla., and Barbara Ann Lange of Marble Falls, Texas; a son, Mark Green of Muskogee; his mother, Beulah Green of Muskogee; a brother, Bruce Green of Muskogee; and six grandchildren, Kristin and Phillip Green, Shawn and Heather Davis and Jacob and Lindsey Lange. THELMA SNODGRASS, 74, of Van Buren, died Saturday, March 10, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband, Ervin; three daughters, Lou Crawford of Westville, Brenda Swain of Fayetteville and Eunice Freeman of Cedarville; a sister, Chloe Brasier of Parsons, Kan.; three brothers, Lee Pike of Rogers, Ray Pike of Denver and Nathan Pike of Centerton; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. CLARKSVILLE — Andy Sexton, 34, of Clarksville died Saturday, March 10, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a carpenter and a 1985 graduate of Clarksville High School. BARLING — Donald Taylor, 63, of Barling died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, in a Fort Smith hospital. He was retired from Whirlpool and a Christian. TROY FLANAGAN, 88, of Alma died Thursday, March 8, 2001, in a local nursing home. He was retired from Dixie Cup in Fort Smith. DENVER — Bettye Marie Turnage, 67, of Denver, formerly of Mena, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, in Denver. She was born July 15, 1933, in Mena. VALDOSTA, Ga. — William “Bill” Paul Hamilton, 68, of Valdosta, Ga., died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, in Lake City, Fla. He was a retired Army recruiter and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
