QUINTON, OKLAHOMA James Ralph Clark, 78 of Quinton, formerly of Sequoyah County died Thursday, March 22, 2001 in Fort Smith. He was a schoolteacher, coach and superintendent. He began his career in Gans, and retired as superintendent of schools in Keota, after 33 years in education. He was a Methodist, Gans High School graduate, and received a bachelor's degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla., and a master's degree in school administration from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla. He was an Army veteran of WW II, a former member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge in Quay, Okla., and the Odd Fellows Lodge in Maramec, Okla. He was a member of the Democratic Pary. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Agent Chapel in Sallisaw with burial at Sallisaw City Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Elsie; one daughter, Jam Votravis of Quinton; three sisters, Gertude Broyles of Valhalla, S.C., Mabel Bibb of Oklahoma City and Nelda Myers of San Francisco; one grand daughter, Stacey Henderson of Oklahoma City; and one great-grandchild. Pall bearers will be John Clark Gunter, George Gunter, Gary, Kenneth and James Bibb and Roy Mormon. Honorary pallbearers will be former school employees, co-workers and board members. The body may be viewed from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will visit with friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today. ** sorry, I was so long getting this out.
