    2. CLIFFORD A REYNOLDS, 72, of Moffett died Sunday, March 11, 2001, in a local hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II and an amateur radio operator. Graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren. He is survived by his friends, Ed Edwards of Muldrow and Donald Yandell of Moffet. CALVIN LEE HAMON, 42, of Van Buren died Friday, March 9, 2001, in a Little Rock hospital. He was a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University and was a carpet layer. He was formerly of Norman and Shawnee, Okla. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Sarah Grove Cemetery near Cedarville. He is survived by his wife, Maggie; two daughters, Amber Lynn and Brittany Nicole Hamon, both of Shawnee, Okla.; one son, Calvin Lee Hamon Jr. of Shawnee, Okla.; his mother, Bobbie Marie Decker of Van Buren, his father, Jimmie Hamon of Wewoka, Okla.; his grandfather, Orville Hamon of Noble, Okla.; one sister, Robin LaRue of Fort Smith; and two nieces. Pallbearers will be LeRoy Stephens Jr., J.T. McMaster, Jimmie and Jeff Mizell, John Pat Morton and Tommy Mankin. The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. ALMEDA ""MICKIE" WEST, 80, of Dallas, formerly of Hagarville community, died Sunday, March 11, 2001, in Dallas. She was a member of the Over Fifty Five Club with St. Pius X Church and was a volunteer with the Brady Center in Dallas. She was of the Church of Christ faith and was the widow of Basil Carlton West. Memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday in Eastgate Funeral Home in Garland, Texas with burial at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hagarville Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Jim of Dallas and Dennis of Lamar; one sister, Grace Williams of Sacramento, Calif.; one brother, Charles Robertson of Idaho; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Eves E. Taber, 89, of Fort Smith died Sunday, March 11, 2001, in Fort Smith. He was a retired employee of White Dairy Ice Cream Company after 50 years service. He was the widower of Muriel Taber. Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith. He is survived by one daughter, June Douglas of Fort Smith; two sons, Ron and James Taber, both of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, Crystal Dickson, Brent and Tony Taber, Mark Douglas, Lana Hunt and Melody Middleton; and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Mark Douglas, Tony and Brent Taber, Gary Hunt and Dave Dickson. MERLE BURK was born Oct. 9, 1935, in Billings, Okla. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Poteau. Funeral was held Monday in Grace Manor Funeral Home in Poteau. The body was cremated and a committal service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion in Poteau. He is survived by one daughter, Gwen Hatcher of Bokoshe; one brother, Donald Ray Burk of Lake Charles, La.; two grandchildren, Krystin Hatcher and Dylan Richardson; and one friend, Carmen Duncan of Howe. Memorial contributions may be made to Professional Home Hospice, Poteau, Okla. EDDIE "SONNY" SMITH, 69, of Van Buren died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, in a local nursing home. He was a retired Baptist minister at Dyer Baptist Church and was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Van Buren. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Concord Baptist Church in Van Buren with burial at Alma Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren. He is survived by his wife, Patsy; three daughters, Belinda Dodd of Fort Smith, Sherry Graham of McAlester, Okla. and Rhonda Bradley of Alma; his mother, Mamie Smith of Alma; six sisters, Elizabeth Arnold and Brenda Reed, both of Alma, Barbara Patton of Springdale, Wanda Meadors of Mulberry, Edith Harvey of Fayetteville and Shirlean Carter of Van Buren; three brothers, Clyde Raymond, Jimmy Don and Gerald Dean Smith, all of Alma; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jason Dodd, Justin and Kristie Graham, Brett, Byron, Bryson and Brady BradleY. FLORA MAE PINNELL, 84, of McCurtain died Monday, March 12, 2001, in Stigler. She was the widow of Elbert Nix and Arnold Pinnell. Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in McCurtain Assembly of God with burial at Old Panther Cemetery in McCurtain under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Stigler. She is survived by four daughters, Wanda Miller of Roseville, Calif., Shelba Hardin of MIdwest City, Okla., Donna Orr and Marilyn McClellan, both of McCurtain; four sons, Gerald Pinnell of Poteau, Wayne Nix of Bixby, Okla., Kenneth Nix of McCurtain and Michael Pinnell of Tulsa; five sisters, Jaunice Brooks, Lucy Cowan, Betty Daugherty, Neva Brigham and Mary Rose; 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Howard Orr, Max Carver, Jeff McClellan, Brian Morrison, Clinton Pinnell and Brian Gibson. WABANE ELMORE, 76, of Greenwood died Sunday, March 11, 2001, in her home. She was a member of the Greenwood Quilting Club, Greenwood First Baptist Church and the Golden Tones Choir group. Funeral will be 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church in Greenwood with burial at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Abbott under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. She was survived by four daughters, JoAnne Escalanta of Mansfield, Sondra Carter, Susie Butler and Cheryl Craig, all of Greenwood; one son, Calvin Eddie Elmore of Russellville; one brother, C.E. ROY DURNING, 94, of Ozark died Monday, March 12, 2001, in Springdale. He was born Nov. 11, 1906, in Cass. He was a Army veteran of World War II and a road crewman for Arkansas Highway Department. She is survived by her husband, Richard; one daughter, Tonya R. CURTIS WOFFORD, 86, of Ozark died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, in Ozark. He was born April 4, 1914, in Ozark. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a retired owner of Nuway Cleaners of Ozark for 34 years. He was a 50 year member of Ozark Masonic Lodge and a member of Ozark United Methodist Church. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Highland Cemetery in Ozark. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn; one sister, Chella Stokes of Ozark; three brothers, Cassius Wofford of Clarksville, Auzie Wofford of Russellville and Cletus Wofford of Hartman. NORMA RAE NOWLIN, 74, of London died Monday, March 12, 2001, in London. She was a rancher and a produce grower. She was of the Assembly of God faith and the widow of William Thomas Nowlin. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday in First Assembly of God in London with burial at East Point Cemetery in London under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home of Clarksville. She is survived by two stepdaughters, Betty Rogers of Stockton, Calif. and Shirley Haney of Suisun, Calif.; two sisters, Oma Lee Whorton of London and Vera Lou Roybal of Billings, Mont.; one half brother, Johnny Vinson of London; several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and one stepgranddaughter, Dedra Bess of Calhoun, Ga. THOMAS LEROY HENDERSON, 83, of Stigler died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, in his home. He was an Army veteran and worked for Smitco Metal Fabrications. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Antioch Cemetery under the direction of King and Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler. He is survived by his wife, Leura; one daughter, Sharon Vails; three stepdaughters, Alice Cross, Sue Bury and Norma Jo Gabbard; two stepsons, Walter and George Folsom; one sister, Vesta Russell; one brother, Bill King; and four grandchildren. HAZEL MARIE DODD, 83, of Fort Smith died Monday, March 12, 2001, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker and the widow of Eugene David Dodd. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Putman Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Smith with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort Smith. She is survived by one daughter, Pebble Haskell of Lawton, Okla.; one son, David H. Dodd of Van Buren; two sisters, Virginia Henson of Van Buren and Betty Keithley of Altus; two brothers, Bill and Tommy Clark, both of Minneapolis; 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
