    3. I should have added: My families (Clevenger and Cox) were in Sebastian County, Texas in the 1840's into the early 1900's. My great grandfather, William Joseph Jasper Clevenger (son of George and Nancy ? Clevenger) married Mary Jane Cox (daughter of Christopher C. and Polly ? Cox) 25 July 1868 in Sebastian County. Thanks for any help. Mimi ----- Original Message ----- From: Mimi To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, September 30, 2007 2:05 PM Subject: [ARSEBAST] Christopher C. Cox and wife, Polly I received this response from the Cox list. Can anyone help me? I looked at the book on one visit to the museum to see if they were connected to our line (they aren't). 1. [ARSEBAST] H. P. Mabry, d. 7 Sept. 1918, age 86, buried at Forest Park Cemetery and 67-year-old child of H. P. Mabry died 6 Sept. 1918 and was moved to Ft. Smith for burial
    2. Lee Anne Center
    3. Thank you Barbara! Is anyone on the list researching this H. P. Mabry and his children? Name: Mabry, H.P. Death Date: 7 September 1918 Age: 86 (b. abt. 1832) Cemetery: Forest Park Where would I write in Sebastian Co. AR to get the confederate records for H. P. Mabry? Curtis A. Hannah submitted a list of Confederate Veterans buried by Fentress Mortuary from 1909-1934 on http://www.rootsweb.com/~arsebast/military/Civilwar/vetsfentress.htm. H. P. Mabry is on that list (source is cited as The Journal - Volume VI, Number 1, April 1982). According to Curtis, the list was originally compiled by Mrs. Oscar Fentress and presented by her to the Jefferson Davis Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy on Jan. 15, 1935. Does anyone know if H. P. Mabry has a headstone? (I checked the list of headstones on the Sebastian Co. website and did not find one for him there, but it may be an ongoing project.) Do any of the Fentress Mortuary records still survive? Does anyone know what kind of death record would have been generated (apart from the cemetery record) in AR if a person died in OK and his body was shipped to AR for burial? I need to write the states involved to get more information. The questions below are some that I'd like to find answers to, but that I'm not asking the list to answer. Was it actually the 86-year-old H. P. Mabry who died? The death date for H. P. Mabry (7 Sept. 1918) and the unnamed deceased traveling salesman (6 Sept. 1918) were almost the same. And if it was the 86-year-old Mabry who died in OK, was his father's name also H. P. Mabry? But if you take into account the birth date of the deceased traveling salesman and the 86-year-old H. P. Mabry, that does not appear to be the case, unless a mistake was made. The deceased traveling salesman was listed as born 21 Jan. 1851, making him 67, while H. P. Mabry's age was 86, making his birth date about 1832. Unless there was an error, did both the 86-year-old father and 67-year-old unnamed traveling salesman die about the same date? If so, where in Ft. Smith is the 67-year-old unnamed traveling salesman buried? Lee Anne

    3. Mary, thanks! Yes I am more confused than ever, (big grin), but your information has really helped. It does seem that the James H. Sellers that was on the 1860 Sebastian, Sugarloaf Township Census is not the same James H. Sellers that is on the 1880 Freestone Co. TX census, unless James had two different wives and families in two different states and was able to get from one state (Alabama) to the other State (Arkansas) in time to show up on both the Alabama and the Arkansas censuses for 1860. :~) . But I do believe the Alabama and the Feeestone, TX james are one and the same. Now if I can only prove that the "Jinny" in the James H. Sellers household for 1880 Freestone Co. TX is the same Jannie A. Sellers who married T. M. Dobbs in Hunt County, TX on August 24, 1890. If so, she would have been about 14 when she married. Did girls get married at 14 back then? I don't suppose there is a 1990 census for TX, Arkansas, or Alabama? Thanks again for your help, I will add you to my growing list of Angels on this site. 3. This is possibly your James Sellers from the 1880 Freestone, Tx census: If this is your James, his mother Sarah is in the 1880 Hunt Co., Tx census with her son Crawford. George W seems to be listed with his grandmother in 1870 and I could not find James in 1870. There is a lot about this family on the Sellers Rootsweb list. Hope this helps and does not confuse things! 1870 Jackson County, AlabamaBridgeport Post OfficeDivision #1enumerated on 22 Jun 1870Page 6Sarah Sellars, 64, F, W, keeping house, $100/$460, TNYoung Sellars, 26, M, W, works in coal mine, ALCrawford Sellars, 21, M, W, farmer, ALGeorge W.
