    3. Greetings Arkansas Researchers, I wouldlike to invite you to check out the Arkansas Gravestone Photo Project and participate in its growth as it will only grow with everyone's involvement. The www.Arkansasgravestones.org i s a wonderful tool to preserve the headstones of your ancestors. With the advent of time and weather and vandalism, our headstones are disappearing at an alarming rate. We need to work on preserving a digital image of our family stones as a fitting tribute to our ancestors. This site is an easy-to-use site that exists to make this preservation possible. Additionally there is no cost to the contributor or to anyone wanting to view the photos, hard to find in this day and age where everything costs something. Plus this is a great way to have a backup for all those photos you presently have. There are no annoying ads flashing, moving or popping. Particularly valuable are those very old headstone photos that you have in grandma's photo album. Scan them into your computer and add them to the site as they may be the only testament to your ancestors life. Share them with the world. This is link for the Arkansasgravestones.org GPP Arkansasgravestones.org has just come on line. We are presently working to get it setup and we would invite you to check it out. Also, I am asking for your help, please add your photos to the site. Every county will have space. I am your Arkansas State coordinator and I am truly excited about being involved. If you need help in adding your pictures i will be glad to help....another great way to save a grave. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at [email protected] to respond to this message. Many of you know me for my SHARP research. Any one interested in hosting any of the counties i would like to hear from you. For you information there are 11 more states with the gravestones.org sites and more are being added. Thank you very much! Elizabeth Qubine/Cubine (or other variant spelling) married James M. Bland (b. 1844/45 VA). The word is that they were married in TX, but as you can see, all of the children in the 1880 federal census listing below were born in VA. I can think of a number of explanations for this, but will not go into that now). James M. Bland was the son of James and Ida (Dawson) Bland of Giles County VA. James Sr. was the brother, I'm told, of George W. Bland of Monroe Co. WV (formerly VA) who married Mary Campbell. In 1880 they are in the Precinct 1, Montague County, TX federal census with a family of six children. Here is their listing on that census (sometimes censuses give incorrect information for any one of a number of reasons): 1880 District 119, Precinct 1, Montague County, Texas 2831 J. M. 3. I'm still trying to document that my Martha Lou Bryan IS Martha Lucy Donathan. I don't have any documentation of a marriage record that would connect Martha Donathan to John L Bryan. If my Martha Bryan is indeed a Donathan, then Sarah's information might be helpful. Until I can make that connection, I don't want to trouble you with sending information, BUT, the Logan county historical book might provide something helpful. When you get the chance, I would be interested in what you find. Family history says that John L Bryan was a Baptist preacher. They were in Sebastian county in 1870, Logan county in 1880 and by 1900 Martha settle back in Sebastian county as a widow. I don't know how or where John died.
