    2. JOSHUA ROYCE OLLAR, 10, of Muskogee, died Wednesday, March 14, 2001. He was born May 3, 1990 to Mike and Rosella Ollar. He is survived by his parents; his brother William; sister Ashley; grandparents M.C. and Sue Ollar of Muskogee and Roy and Malva Collins of Heavener; his great-grandparents, Opal Ollar of Heavener, Clara Goble of Wister, and Ethel Wise of Poteau; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17 at Grandview Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Mills officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Heavener Memorial Garden Cemetery under the direction of Bradley Family Funeral Home of Muskogee. NOEL DOUGLAS BABB, 90, of Poteau, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, in Tulsa. He was a longtime resident of LeFlore County. He taught school for over 35 years and served as superintendent of Cameron School in the 1940s, principal of Howe High School in the 1950s and coached the Howe High School girl’s basketball team winning the state championship in 1959. When he retired, he studied natural history and his collection of artifacts was exhibited at several county libraries during the 1980s and 1990s. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances. He is survived by four daughters, Laneal Crawford, Elith Jane Smith and Robbie Paquette, all of Tulsa, and Yvonne Miller of Sapulpa; one son, Ian Douglas Babb of Poteau; five sisters, Dessa Dipboye of Houston, Edith Beavers of Heavener, Mary Jane Dickson of Austin, Oleta Moffit of Beaumont and Reba Eddins of Livingston; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will visit with friends Sunday, March 18 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Dowden Funeral Home in Heavener. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 19 at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener. NORMAN DWAIN MORPHIS, 67, of Monroe, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, in Muskogee. He was born Aug. 31, 1933 in Okemah. He was a veteran of the Air Force and an oil field worker. He worked in oil fields all over the world. Survivors include his wife Alice “Imogene” Morphis of Monroe; four sons, Norman Morphis Jr. of California, Dwain Lee Morphis of Monroe, James Edward Blake of Poteau and Thomas Keith Blake of Panama; three daughters, Cindy Morphis, Vicky Mittag of Oregon City, Ore., and Janet Lynn Bledsoe of McAlester; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren; other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 19 in Monroe Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy D. Cook officiating. Services are under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. Can anyone please tell me the exact location of Peoria? Or, perhaps you have heard of this community. It must have been a small post office site once, but I have been unable to locate it. Two people gave testimony of witness for him and gave Peoria as their post office address, also. They were Richard Hilrey Statham, age 53 and Peter Skidmore Baker, age 39 and both lived nearby him. OLA FITZJARRELL, 91, of Lavaca passed away Saturday, March 10, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was born July 7, 1909, in Akers, Mo., the daughter of the late Jasper and Della (Summers) Springer. Ola was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Lavaca for 70 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Walter Fitzjarrell, one son, Earl Fitzjarrell, and one brother, Arville Stringer. She was a retired schoolteacher having taught at Wister High School for 15 years; Drumright for 17 years; and Spiro for 11 years. She graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1939 and received her M.S. from Oklahoma State University in 1950. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Educational Fraternity, Spiro First Baptist Church, director of Women’s Missionary Union and a Sunday School teacher for many years. Poteau was their home except for brief residencies in Louisiana and abroad in Africa on assignment by her husband's employer, Amerada Petroleum Corp. In Poteau, they were members of the First Baptist Church, but following her husband's death, Anna returned to the First United Methodist Church of her childhood. She was active in her children's education and activities, a skillful bridge player and member of various bridge clubs and women's organizations, and did volunteer work at the LeFlore County Hospital. She remained very active until the week before her death. In February, she had traveled with her son, granddaughter and son-in-law on a cruise to South America and visited the ancient Incan City of Machu Picchu high in the Andes. Her lifelong signature was "enjoy each day." Any gifts may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Poteau. NINA GLADYS DENNIS, 95, of Salina, died Saturday, March 10, 2001. She was born Nov. 21, 1905 in Rose, Indian Territory to William Oscar and Fannie Lee (Gillum) Hale. She grew up and attended school in Rose. She was a teacher in Mayes and Delaware counties. She married Omar Vandeventer and after his death, she married Truman Dennis, who also preceded her in death. She enjoyed crocheting and tatting and was a member of the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands and one grandson, Phillip Gene Vandeventer; three brothers, four sisters; and her parents. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Pocola High School gymnasium with burial at Laird Cemetery in Pocola under the direction of Rowell-Parish Mortuary of Fort Smith. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Sorrells of Gaston, S.C., and Christa Maria Bennett of Corpus Cove, Texas; her mother, Lillie Mae Lyons of Pocola; six sisters, Paula Mae Kirksey of Pocola, Florence Woods and Martha Lee, both of Fort Smith, Jean Lyons of Hinesville, Ga., Bertha Jean Clayton of Spiro and Georgia Young of California; five brothers, James Wesley Lyons and Johnny Lyons, both of Fort Smith, Charles Wesley Lyons and Julius Lyons, both of Pocola, and Gabriel Lyons of Sallisaw; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers will be James Wesley Lyons, Gabriel, Johnny and Anthony Lyons, James Sorrells and John Clayton.
