    2. RICHARD LEW THOMPSON SR., 58, of Cameron, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001. He was born Nov. 20, 1942 in Yonkers. Mr. Thompson was a truck driver, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a veteran of Vietnam, serving from 1962-1973. Survivors include his wife Ruth "Mickey" Thompson of the home; three sons and four step sons, Richard Lew Jr., Ronald Joe, Sequoyah, Hank, Frank, Scott, and Kenny; three daughters and one step daughter, Betsy, Cindy, Lawanda and Ladonna; one brother, Charlie Thompson of Muskogee; two sisters, Sarah Jane Henson of Hulbert and Anna Belle Bachfink of Catoosa; the mother of his children, Carrie Quinn; 23 grandchildren; numerous other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 6 at Ballou Baptist Church in Locust Grove. Burial will follow in Ballou Cemetery in Locust Grove under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau. SAMUEL MALLIN, 97, of Cameron, formerly of Phoenix, Ariz., died Tuesday, April 3, 2001. He was a partner in Mallin Brothers Foundry of Phoenix, Ariz., a member of Bethel Temple in Phoenix, a Navy veteren of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife Estell Mallin. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Gaither of Cameron; four grandchildren, Tracy Hargrove, Jeremy Young, Ashley and Bridgette Gaither; one step grandson, Todd Bolton; three great-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild. Services are pending with Sanai Mortuary of Phoenix, Ariz., under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood, Ark. DORTHY L. SMITH, 67, of Pocola, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, in Tulsa. She was retired from Baldor Electric, a member of Christian Grove Freewill Baptist Church and lived for her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Clifford E. Smith of the home; two sons, Richard Smith and Ronnie Smith and wife Toni, all of Pocola; three sisters, Frankie Dorsey of Fort Smith, Wanda Shackleford and Carolyn Richardson, both of Wichita, Kan.; four brothers, Jerry Smith of North Carolina, Levi Smith of Fort Smith, Joyce Dean Smith of Salina, Kan., and Ferrel Smith of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren, Ryan Smith, Cody Smith, Monica Flores and Tara Johnson. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7 at the Christian Grove Freewill Baptist church in Pocola with the Rev. Jimmy Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Men's Sunday School Class. FRANCIS OLLIE PLY, 82, of Heavener, died Thursday, April 5, 2001, in Fort Smith. She was a lifelong resident of Heavener. Survivors include one son, Billy C. Pierce of Mount Ida, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Viewing will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Friday, April 6 at Dowden Funeral Home in Heavener. No services are planned.     2. If I have a land patent from an ancestor living in Sebastian Co. in early 1800s.......and have a legal description of the land.........is there a way to find out what happen to this land? When it was sold.......or probated? I'm trying to find out when my ancestor William Martin left Sebastian Co. I found a land patent for him at the Bureau of Land Management site.     3. The following is the complete obit fro George Harrower: George Andrew Harrower, 81 of Van Buren, formerly of Colorado, died Sunday, April 1, 2001 in a local hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the Philippines in the Corps of Engineers. He was a member of the United Transportation Union and was a conductor for the Santa Fe Railroad for 37 years. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Fort Smith. She was an aid at Booneville Human Development Center in Booneville. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Lakeview Pentecostal Church of God with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Booneville under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Booneville. She is survived by a daughter, Tamara Cates of Magazine; two sons, Donald W. Crenshaw of Booneville and Jeffrey D.     3. Reba Robison Reba Evelyn Robison, 63, of Fort Smith died Monday, April 2, 2001, in a Van Buren nursing home. She was a homemaker and a member of Greenwood First Baptist Church.     3. Vernice Ledbetter Sr. HUNT - Vernice D. Ledbetter Sr., 66, of Hunt died Monday, April 2, 2001, in Clarksville. He was born July 13, 1934, in West Plains, Mo. He was a retired poultry farmer and attended Liberty Hill Community Church. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in Liberty Hill Community Hill Church with burial at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Hunt under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Roye Faye Palmer of Hunt; two sons, V. Duwane Ledbetter Jr. and James Allen Ledbetter II, both of Hunt; three sisters, Ona Bushman of Colorado, Lois Roman of West Plains, Mo. and Shirley Bolan of Sapulpa, Okla.; two brothers, Floyd Ledbetter of West Plains, Mo., and David Ledbetter of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and seven grandchildren.
