So sad to hear that they are having to quit because of their health & hopefully, everything will be fine soon for Trevia and family. I too, am dealing with a health issue for my husband so cannot volunteer at this time but hopefully can by beginning of next year or 2012. I would dearly love to help out in Leflore County, especially Poteau area since I'm more familiar with it, but can run around the county some because I like exploring the old smaller cemeteries that aren't all documented. i have been searching for Sarah M. Smothers Cates. born between 1848-1849, died between 1900-1901. About April 1908, her husband, Thomas Jefferson Cates, remarried. It sounds like there is more than one cemetery on Ft Chaffee land. Do you know the name of the cemetery that your ancestors are buried in?
