I am interested in the Thomas Sykes family. In the 1980 census Thomas was raising his family with wife, Nancy (Winburne) . Their daughter, Viola Belle, was my great great grandmother. Around 1938-40 she was living with her daughter, Leola, and son-in-law, Lovic Pearce Lassiter in Ft. Smith AR. Sandra DeHart was kind enough to send my a copy of Thomas Sykes' Confederate Pension record. Since I don't have it with me, I won't quote dates. It does show he lived in Bonanza AR in the late 1800 and early 1900s. He died around 1910 and the remainder of his penison for that year was assigned to O.B. Sykes. So far I have not identified O.B. Sykes. Any additional information would be appreciated.
