Hello List. Hopefully some one can help. My Gr gr Grandmother Jackoline Meeks # 2 husband was Thomas (Tom) McDaniels. Tom McDaniels was part choctaw Indian. Tom was shot and killed in the indian Terr. at a Indian Stomp Dance and died 1882. He had been wanted for murder in 1879 along with his brother Jeanett McDaniels, Jeff and William Meeks(his brother-in -laws), Amos and Britt Willis, also Brown Thompson. They had killed a indian named Able Chico in the Indian Terr. along with horse stealing . It is my understanding that Tom was buired in Fort Smith, Ar. in 1882. Will some kind soul help me find where he is buired or any info. at all on this man. Did some shoot him and take his body to Fort Smith for a reward ? Thanks for any help! Glynda
Hi List, I am out here in California. Are there any records at Ft. Smith, that go back to 1839? I am looking for the birth date on Caroline E. HOWARD. She was born in 1839, Ft. Smith. Parents are Mark William HOWARD and Rachel MARKHAM. Her brother, William Harper HOWARD, born 17 Nov 1841 at Ft. Smith. I have all of the birth dates on the other Howard children. Caroline is the only one I don't have. Hope someone can find this info for me. I would really appreciate the help. Thanks. Carol Stewart
Hello, I am brand new to the Sebastian Co., mailing list. I would like to correspond with anyone who has Gee's in their line. Specifically I am looking for a marriage record for Henry VanBuren Gee who married Maud Caroline Williams, supposedly at Ft. Smith, Arkansas....date unsure but they had a daughter Ruby who was born in 1913. I believe Maud's father was Bill Williams and family legend has it that he was half Cherokee. Henry's father was Charles Hiram Gee and he was supposed to be half Cherokee as well. This family traveled back and forth between Arkansas and Oklahoma. I have never researched Cherokee records before. Can anyone tell me what is available? Thank you so much. Coleen Alaska
Sorry, gang...I have been off line since Wednesday after the obituaries were done. I got the W32Sircam.exe VIRUS and have been working with the computer. I had McAfee on line Clinic, but nothing popped up when I started the computer, after being gone for 5 weeks. I will get back on the obituaries on Monday. I had to Quick Restore, and hopefully I have saved most of my information that was important. Suzy, I still have not been able to retrieve my addresses...so IF ANY of you are on my list personally, PLEASE send your email addresses...so I can put them back in my address book. This has been a chore, but has taught me a valuable less....Don't open attachments, even if they are from trusted genealogist...because they are trust-worthy, but they could have the virus and not know it. Carolyn (Parsons) Smedley angelears@alltel.net P. S. If you had written me for lookups on marriages from 1850-1900 in Arkansas or any other thing in regard to genealogy...write me back.

Didn't locate any information on Thomas C. Waddle, but I'll be checking "The Key" issues for that name. What I did find was from The Cemeteries of Sebastian Co. by Marie Gray. Pages 82 and 64. I forgot to make a note of which cemeteries these were. Someone on this list or another may have that book, and may provide the missing information. (Please???) WADDLE Benjamin - 1890 - 1970, husband of Nettie Gist Waddle Beulah - page 64 (didn't locate her here though.
