Hey guys, My son brought me the latest copy of this book...he said it is selling like hotcakes in Fayetteville where he works. I haven't been able to put it down for two days...it covers every hole, shoal, and bluff from Boxley Valley on Upper Buffalo to the White River. The author has spent years interviewing the old timers along the river and he tells how each spot got its name. Arnolds, Ezells, Erbies, Taylors, Tylers, Colliers, Sittons, Dillards, Laffoons, Stepps, MN&Ar RR, Hensley's, Ramseys,Wisdoms,Shields, just to name few....if you had any anscestors near the river, Ken Smith has probably listed them in the book..has pictures too all along the way...the flood of 1982 at hwy 14 bridge, the Railroad trussels near Bear Creek, etc. And, just for you Janie, old Tom Shipman is mentioned....
