He was my 3g-grandmother's brother, and he second wife, Mary Jane Wasson, was the sister of my 2g-grandmother. I am cc:ing the list in case other people are interested. I hadn't had a good death date for Henry Bowman Turney, and your article on the cemetery cleared that up for me. Bill Turney's note that I have in my files says that he died from blood poisoning after being bitten by a pig he was carrying over his shoulder. You mention "Choctaw Certificates" in describing land purchases by the Turney family: what are these? PS -- my dad describes his granddad, Rufus Blair, baking sweet potatoes for him in the coals of a potbellied stove that Rufus used for heating his fruit stand on Mountain Street in Fayetteville, much like you describe in the sweet potato article.
